Meaning of invocation

नमो विद्वद्भ्यः 

We invoke all water bodies inside कलशः--

सर्वे समुद्राः सरितस्तीर्थानि जलदा नदाः ।

आयान्तु यजमानस्य दुरितक्षयकारकाः ॥
Now the question --
How we define these terms: समुद्रः सरित् तीर्थम् जलदः नदः
(Is जलदः a seperate body of water, or adjective of नदः)

I have understood them to be perennial rivers/streams fed by groundwater.
