I am installing Bridgeworks on a fresh reinstall of Windows XP Pro.
Currently the user has admin rights.
I am looking at the instructions for installing here,
http://groups.google.com/group/bridge-works-net-support/web/how-to-install-bridge-works

I have installed MDAC, .NET, Visual Studio report view, and SQL
Express 2008. Then I ran the setup for Bridgeworks version 8.2.0.27.
The install goes smoothly, but then I start the app I get the
following error:

"The following unhandled execption occured: SQL Server WMI provider is
not available on PW6482"

Any ideas?

Thank you

All,

I just discovered that the application and service has a problem if
the Volume Serial number for the "C" drive on your machine begins with
one of the hexadecimal digits "8", "9", "A", "B", "C", "D", "E" or
"F". You can check your volume serial number by creating a DOS shell
and entering the DOS command "vol C:". This could be a problem you are
having.

Thanks.

Thanks Mike.  It turned out it was the SQL Express 2008 install that was the problem, but this is good to know.
