Visualizing CameraCapture or VideoCapture

Hello!

I just downloaded Bonsai to a Windows7 laptop and am trying to do a basic video stream from the built-in webcam.

While the webcam seems to be working (the little green LED beside the cam is lighting up), the following window appears when I double click on the CameraCapture node. The same thing happened when I used VideoCaptureDevice.

I've tried re-installing bonsai to this PC and have tried using external cameras, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone experienced this before? Any help would be appreciated!

Hi!

Try to right click on top of the camera node, and under "Show Visualizer" select the (...)IPIImageVisualizer.

Hi Bruno,

When I go to the "Show Visualizer" option, it only gives me the choice of "None" or "Bonsai.Design.ObjectTextVisualizer." This happens regardless of whether I set the video input source as the built-in webcam or an external webcam. Is there someway to check where the program is actually getting video input from?

you are missing a package instalation, one of the design ones, either vision, or dsp or video.

Hi Helena,

Indeed the problem seems to be a missing visualization package. You can try installing the "Starter Pack" package which should take care to install and configure all basic image and signal processing packages (with visualizers).
