Hi everyone, just on a separate topic, found out recently that some of the self levelling system parts for my 91 M5 are NLA from any source....anyone know where I might be able to buy “right pressure hose 37131133896” ? Thanks!

It is generally possible to have hoses rebuilt, new flex part crimped to the old ends. Beware that power steering hoses have damping features built in.

I went through this ordeal with another hydraulic line. Couldn’t find it anywhere (NLA). Eventually I had it rebuilt. If you come to find that is your only option let me know and I can dig up and provide you with details on the guy that rebuilt mine.

Yeh...to Gary’s point ...
I had called probably 10 different hose rebuilders and as soon as I mentioned those damping inserts they pretty much all said they couldn’t do it. Doesn’t seem like a big deal to me but hey...
Finally was able to find a guy that did it. Seems to be working fine.

I had the high pressure hose that leaves the pump spring a leak years ago. As it happened, Jim Moffitt and I had this happen to both our cars at the same time at a track weekend. We were able to find a hose repair shop in a farm supply type store that cut off the bad flex hose and converted to AN style fittings for $20-$30. Now, this OE line has the reducer orafice crimped in the middle of a much thicker rubber flex line. (See pictures). This orafice and thicker hose I’m told cancels the chatter of the pump. It must because that thing was loud the whole way home. I was able to order both high pressure and return lines back in 2014. Now, these rear lines that go to or from the accumulators should be easily fixed or fabricated as they don’t have the orafice in them.
I ended up doing some autopsy work on the blown line and removed the metered orafice, which I’m certain could be used in another line if crimped in the middle or placed somewhere close. You can also see the new 5800psi fire retardant hose that was way overkill that has the OE metal ends. I still have it as a spare!! I also still have the metered orafice as well. Fixing these is not rocket science and if you can’t find someplace to do it, get a steel tube cutter, and order some compression AN fittings from McMaster Carr, source some hydraulic hose and do it yourself. There is probably a YouTube video out there showing how!!
Remember, this is the high pressure line up front by the pump, but the rear hydraulic lines are similar but without the metered orafice. Repair is the same principle.

5800 psi hose? That would be super stiff steel spiral wire reinforced, no wonder it transmitted hydraulic noise. Normal fabric braid 2000 psi hose would be good with the orifice, and also another flow restrictor the factory hose has. As Jeff noted, the SLS lines don't have special damping features.
