Dear Birds,

0. Introduction of new members
- Venkata Ramana is the only new member. He is taking a course in Web Designing in Ameerpet. He is interested to work on any cause and thrust is on Environment related activities.
1. Discuss on the core issue that we took up: Thalassemia - 8th May - Walk at Necklace Road, Awareness Campaigns
We need to take this forward. Each one of us help create this awareness. Pavan, Sai, Susmitha and Prasanthi explained about Thalassemia to Venkata Ramana garu and Madhava Reddy garu.
a. From my end, I decided to facilitate sessions and conduct awareness campaign in Gachibowli area (Doyen'sTownship, Gulmohar Park, Central University and IIIT)
(Members who reside near by please let me know if you can help me in this effort)
b. Madhav Reddy garu and his friend Lenin, planned a week long activity from 5th May to 14th May and they are going to distribute pamphlets on Thalassemia.
c. Kalyan Sudheer is planning to do consistent work in Vizag on this cause.
d. Chintu and Sai suggested to chalk out a programme and share the calendar so that members in the group will come forward.
e. We have to pull people and make them participate in the Thalassemia Walk on 8th of May.
2. Kappaladoddi Village projects
As Harish was not present, we did not know his thoughts. (Harish, please share). Chintu and Pavan shared the update. They contributed money to 15 families for Maggam repair and to give Raatnam to 15 senior citizens in the village. Every month they have to repay Rs. 200. Lokanatham and Ramesh shoulder the responsibility. Decided to wait and see. If this is a success, we will extend this help to some more families.
Reg. RO Plant, we need volunteers who can own up this task and be on the job till we take a decision and if we decide to go ahead, be all through, till we set up the plant. We can take this forward only if we have volunteers.
3. Jan Lokpal Bill
We couldn't discuss on this topic. Looking forward for the updates from Rajesh.
4. Projects from Teams
Chintu shared about the education project going on in collaboration of three groups: Serve the Needy, Helping Hands and AMMA, in Balanagar slum. They appointed a Vidya Volunteer who takes classes regularly. Volunteers visit during weekdays depending on their schedules and also spend quality time on weekends.
(Chintu, please add if I miss anything)
Prasanthi shared about Borabanda school project progress and also about the requirement of funds for Braille printer.
5. About Bapu Ghat
We will conduct all our BosF meets at Bapu Ghat itself as this is a place which is accessible. We have buses to Mehdipatnam from major parts of the city and from Mehdipatnam we have many number of buses and share autos to Bapu Ghat, Langar House. There is no entry fee.
Bhavya has an interesting question. As Gandhiji's Samadhi is in Delhi, how come we have a ghat in Hyderabad?
6. Level of Participation in BosF Meetings
We have around 45 groups in BosF but when it comes to meetings no one turn up. What is the reason? Let us meet for meeting sake and to know volunteers from other groups.
Request all the groups in BosF to dedicate/allocate one to two volunteers for BosF tasks only. We can definitely see a good progress in all the activities that we do.
Next meeting would be on 5th of June (Environment Day - a coincidence).
Chintu gave Caps to all the participants.
Team,
Please add if I miss anything.
