Update from Sarath Chandra:
Hi Team,
I visited Sri keerthana foundation this morning and I would like to share few details. I spoke to the founder member of this foundation and was touched by his story. A foundation which got started with a reason and it became a part of his life.
This foundation was started in year 2000. D. N Anil Kumar Goud who started this foundation is an Advocate by profession and his wife Mrs. Madhavi Goud, a govt teacher by profession are care takers of this foundation.
The foundation has strength of 90 members. In which 25 members both Men & Women are mentally challenged, Around 25-30 children are orphans. A group of 10-15 Children who are also mentally retarded, 5-6 people who are around age 40+yrs are totally bed ridden. There are around 3-4 children who are CP (Cerebral palsy patients).
A home consisting of these many people at a place was really heart touching. After long discussion with founder, I came to know many things. The orphan children go to nearby Govt Schools and children who are mentally retarded are taken by 2-3 teachers within the home. The foundation has a staff of 10-12 members in which there is a cook, 3 women nurses, 3 men who work as guard, receptionist etc.
When comes to financial position of the foundation. From Mr Anil Kumar words, he is one who is taking care of foundation needs. He vested good amount of money in LIC bonds and from that commission amount, he is running the foundation. Some money is also managed by “Home Nursing” works. The nursing staff take cares of this job.
Some of the interesting things here are the old age people or the CP children’s here are brought by their own relatives or family members. At the time of joining at this home, they do huge promises to pay monthly amounts but later they never look back at them. Inspite of reminders calls , they pay less amounts and sometimes they never turn up at the time of emergency. I heard few lives were also lost like that and these people only cremated them. I have visited all of them and I have taken pictures, please find the below link:

Their Immediate Requirements:
1) Oxygen cylinder Set
2) Section Machine
3) 4-5 Rexine Beds
4) 2-3 Fans
The first and second are required immediately as I heard that many of the patients are breathing related problems and as first aid they need oxygen. I am not sure what section machine means, they explained me in medical terms which I could not understand.
I cannot end the story without this, a great moment was captured today. I meet a group of people today at the same venue. SPOORTHI GROUP, a bunch of young men and women with noble thoughts. A group headed by Ms. B Shanthi Sree and young graduated engineer Master Paddu Bharadwaj.
Ms B Shanthi Sree a doctor by profession visited this foundation last week and within less time they all collected huge amounts for this foundation. They gave 50 Blankets, 4 Ceiling Fans, 15 urine catheters and bags, 6 Rexine Beds, 10-15 school bags, 1 kadai bowl for cooking purposes, 24 nighties for women and 8 carpet sheets.
I feel even our team should visit this foundation and do our best in whatever way we can.
