Hi Team,

Greetings!!

One of my team mates and TMAD member too, Ms. Shailaja Dara, watched a programme on TV9 (22nd Dec, 6 pm to 7 pm) where they showed the plight of around 250 students. She didn't note the details of the home or the programme.  She shared the info. with me.

On Saturday, our member Praveen and I visited TV9 office and enquired. They couldn't answer. So we took the phone number and followed up. Today afternoon I got the details. I could talk with the reporter who covered the programme. He is Mr. Fazal and he has been taken there through AISF State President, Mr. Anjaneyulu (96668-30009).

This is a govt. BC hostel - actually 3 hostels in one compound with around 250 children (1st to 10th class). There are no facilities here as quoted by them. Children are sleeping on floor. With whatever blankets they have, they are sharing. They do not have glasses and plates too. It seems some other organization is going there today to distribute 100 blankets.

This is in Saidabad SBH Colony near Malakpet TV Tower. It seems anyone can give direction to this hostel if we can go till SBH Colony.

Even if we assume 100 blankets will be distributed today by one organization, there is still a need for 150 blankets. If any group is interested or can forward to your CSR, it would be good.

Yesterday (Christmas) we, TMAD, distributed blankets in M N J shelter (which is for radiation patients). We got the blankets @ Rs. 145 for piece from Swastik Traders (Mr. Chandresh - 98480-34448). Came to know later that we can get the same quality  @ Rs. 140 for piece near Charminar.

Thank you.

with regards,
PRASANTHI.

I have a good news to share. Our Company (DSTWS) CSR came forward to
contribute for this activity. We will be executing on behalf of DSTWS
SSC. Today our TMAD volunteer, Sarath, is going to visit the hostel to
find the on ground scenario and based on his inputs we will take a
decision.

So this activity is kind of addressed. If need be, I will keep you
posted.

Hello All
No doubt, it is an excellent job taken by BOSF members.

But, I wanted to raise one question how many BC Hostel can we support ? Try to address the solution in permanent method.

At times depending on the need we have to do welfare, once it is satisfied we need to focus on the permanent and one time solution method.

This is not to offend anyone interest.

Hello Ramakrishna garu,

You are 100% correct. There is nothing to feel offended in your statement.

If you remember, some months ago I posted a mail that we can take up BC Hostels or SC Hostels issue in the city as a BosF project where all of us can get involved and address the issue. There was not much of a response.

Coming to addressing this issue with the rqmts., some times we have to do. Certain funding will be for particular activities only. So it is better utilize that funding as there would at least be a temporary solution.

By the way, we dropped the idea of supporting this hostel as it received help. We will think of other option where the rqmt. is there.

Our volunteer Sarath visited it and came to know that there are 100 students only now. Blankets and Glasses/Plates were distributed. It is a three storeyed building and each hostel is in one floor. The rqmt. is for games and sports items, repairs to windows and doors and a Television in each floor.

That would be great, Kiran.

By providing requirements does not necessarily mean raising funds but creating awareness among the public to be sensitive with the needs of children staying with us in respective colonies and also to compel govt. to release funds and focus on proper management of govt. hostels.

This would be a good activity to start the new year as a BosF platform. We can take it up if at least 5 groups among us come forward with a dedicated volunteer for this activity from each group.

From TMAD, I will confirm one volunteer. Name will be announced shortly.

That is great Ravikiran.

How about meeting this Sunday at Botanical Gardens from 10 am to 12 noon for this project?

Request all BosF members who are interested to address the govt. hostels issue (either BC, SC or ST) on the whole, to participate.

Request each group to delegate one member for this project.

Looking forward for a positive response.

Hello All
First of all i would thank all the volunteers who have shown interest in this.

I am guessing most of the people are from IT industry. With that statement i am putting some suggestions.

Why most of the IT projects will go in planned manner ?
Why most of the IT projects will completed in time (In some cases extended ,which is very rear ) ?
Why the planning is executed smoothly ?

Hoping you got answers by now....... DON'T RUSH ONCE YOU HAVE THE IDEA , because "IDEA IS COSTLY" We should have proper recharges and continue.......with the SIM ( SOCIETY, IDEA, MANAGEMENT )

So i suggest we need to have a lot on this like software process.
A)
1. 1st Stage of Requirement gathering (Which covers info like : No of BC hostels, Their funding, How many BC Hostels are in rented premises, How many are in own premises )
Even for the requirement gathering we have to distribute the work.
2. 2nd Stage of Requirement gathering (Who are the other people working in the similar lines, Need to gather their details and collect information from them to avoid reworks.)
3. 3rd Sage of Requirement gathering (How many times the issue is covered in Media, who covered, getting in touch with those reporters)

B) Now planning has to be done.
What are we going to do with the data ?
Where are we going to use the data ?
In what way the data can be structured ?
What are our plan of action with the data ?
Are we planning to do welfare activities ?
Are we planning to play key role in the Policy making ?
Are we planning to highlight issues and fight on them

C) Implementation plan
With the decisions we made in the planning we have to run the show in the implementation plan.

May be you can modify the plan ,but i suggest it has to go with proper structure :
Dead lines ,
Team (they will be responsible for success and failures ),
Regular meeting without any break (Like 2nd sunday or 3rd saturday), Regular updates about that project.
Status updates.

Moreover the person who is on top in driving the team should be accountable for all.
