I'm running/testing bigbluebutton in VirtualBox, without any problems
the issue that hasn't been mentioned yet, is that one has to adjust the
settings: System / Processor / Extended Features enable PAE/NX so that
the VirtualBox passes the Physical Address Extension features of the
host CPU to the virtual machine.

Also after the image booted, i logged in and changed the default
password, then tried to do bbb-conf, and surprisingly its not there!
it says
bbb-conf: command not found.

When i do a dpkg -l |grep bbb nothing comes up.

Are you sure this is the correct vm file to run? i downloaded it from
the download page on the site. It routed me to the sourceforge page
and i got it from there.

Hello Mahmound,
Does the host system get ip through dhcp? is your Vbox set to bridged? from your VM can you paste the result of the following commands:

cat /etc/network/interfaces
ifconfig

I had the same problem installing vm. I think is your local network, vm not getting an ip address.

Thanks,
Gabriel

As long as when the VM first boots it can access external, it should
be able to complete its initial setup.

However, using NAT does not provide the VM an externally accessible IP
address. You may be able to access the VM from the host computer
(which is running the VM), but not from any other computer.

If this isn't making sense, best to read more about the differences
between bridged and NAT for networking setup of a VM.
