Several episodes of The X-Files confirm the existence of aliens.
Further, Sigourney Weaver singlehandedly proved that it's possible to
look incredible while killing an unkillable extra-terrestrial.

even Scully will back you up on that one.

so maybe that's why most of the aliens have settled in Hollywood and
not somewhere out in the sticks.

i suppose they figure that if they're gonna do battle with mankind,
they might as well enjoy the scenery.

anyway, welcome aboard the bickerfest!

as far as your email question about responding to older posts, i think
google has a thirty day limit or somesuch.

as a workaround, you can choose "respond to author" and then copy the
resulting text box into a notepad text file (or the Mac equivalent) so
that you'll have all of the attributions and quoting characters of the
post you're responding to (as well as the message id number).

be sure to also copy the subject title.

then, when you're done bickering offline, you can easily copy and
paste your bickerfesting into a new post. you can separately paste
the title.

like so:

Re: POLL #0000001 - Why are you not bickerfesting?

by doing that with the title, it may end up threading back properly to
the original post. if not, at least it will reference it properly.
you can get the title by clicking on "edit title" which will be
available as an option above the textbox once you choose "respond".

also, if you want, you can copy the google link of the original post
you're responding to by going back to that post and clicking on
"individual message" -- then the direct link to that post will be in
your web browser address bar where you can easily copy and paste it.

one of these days i'll create a nice FAQ on this stuff which will
include screenshot pictures and whatnot for ease of understanding.

one thing to keep in mind (especially if what you've written is
lengthy and/or took you some time to compose) is to be careful about
buzzing around to different google windows unless you've saved your
writing elsewhere, otherwise you may accidentally navigate your
writing away into oblivion.

not fun.

my mistake, the message id doesn't append when responding to author,
so it would be cool if when using this woirk-around that you included
a google link to the original article, though certainly not mandatory.

ummm. nope, wrong again -- if my recent experiment doing so was
anything to go by.
