I just sent an email from Ebay with 4 beautiful family pics that they are
selling. If it doesn't come thru please go to ebay.com and type in Azores
and they will come up in the search. Hopefully some one will be able to
identify the pics which are supposedly of Azorean families from Sao
Miguel.

Hi, I found the photos on ebay. They are probably no relation of mine
though they look similar to some, haha. I have ancestors who also had
photographs taken at A M Estrella studio. Could you please give more
information such as where you found these and if there is anything
written on the backs. Also, please try to make copies or scans of them.
Old family photographs are so rare and once they are gone, they are gone
forever. I think you can have scans and copies made at places like CVS
if you don't own a scanner.

A.M. Estrella was the photographer of the Portuguese immigrants in the Fall River area circa 1900-1930. He had a studio on Bay Street and was orininally from Vila Franca (I think). He took a wedding photo of my grandparents in 1910.

Interesting photos but I do not recognize any one.

I have a couple of photos done by A. M. Estrella also. I have wondered what ever happened to all the old glass plate negatives. I would guess they were washed for their silver content during the war.

Jesse

They don't have anything to do with me, I just wanted others on the Azores
list to know about them. You need to write to the person who is selling the
pics and ask those questions.
