About the Azores Genealogy group:

This mailing list is for anyone with a genealogical interest in the Azores.  We discuss genealogy, culture, history, DNA, books, and anything else to help the Portuguese researcher.  This is a fairly busy list, averaging approximately 10-20 messages a day. NOTE: Messages from NEW MEMBERS are MODERATED. 

Rules and Regulations:

As a member of this group, it is expected that you follow general netiquette rules as well as a few others posted here.

1) Keep topics and queries related to AZOREAN GENEALOGY only.  The exceptions are culture, history, and DNA.

2) Please snip (edit) the emails you are responding to.  Include only the part you have information on.  Those on dial-up or on digest mode may not read your message if it contains 10 pages of previous messages.

3) Keep your answers as short and to the point as possible.

4) This list is set to have messages sent to the entire group. Change your "To" line if you want to email an individual. 

5) No flaming or rudeness allowed.

6) No cross-posting allowed.

7) Researchers for hire are allowed to advertise their services.  It is preferred that this info is placed in the signature line. (Netiquette rules say to limit your signature line to 4 lines).  It is your responsibility to check them out.  Researchers for hire may also advertise on the Azores Genweb at: http://homepage.mac.com/kmacardoza/Genealogy/azoresindex.html

8) I reserve the right to remove inappropriate and/or offensive postings as well as off topic postings.

Violation of these rules will result in moderation without warning.  Extreme cases (or repeated violation) will result in banning.
