Ernest's letter in its entirety said (I added in parenthesis):
August 25, 2011
Dear,
I regret to tell you the APGHS has ceased operations. I don't know if it is permanent. The Florida and Massachusetts-based founders (particularly Cecelia Rose) passed away more than a decade ago and at age 78 I no longer have the energy and the zeal to go it alone. Sources for "Bulletin Board" (name of the newsletter) stories have dried up and with the use of the Internet. membership has declined (sic).
Should the society revive, life members will remain so. Those who have paid their dues this year will get a refund if requested. The post office box (see below) will remain open for 2011.
Sincerely,
Ernest Cardoza
APGHS President
His address, phone, and email
NOTE: No permission was given to me to post his private information. If you need it, I'll email it to you privately.
2nd NOTE: I don't know what will happen to their book about St. John's Cemetery in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Cheri
