Francisco Pais (born around 1670) married to Maria Victória. They had:

 

1.     Boaventura Pimentel, born 1703, S. Mateus, Praia. Married to Francisca Pereira de Vasconcelos in 26 of July 1728, S. Mateus, Praia. Francisca was the daughter of Manuel da Cunha de Vasconcelos and Catarina Pereira. They had:

a.     Manuel José Pimentel, born around 1740, São Mateus, Praia, died after 15 of February 1795. He was married to Leonarda Rosa. They had:

                                                              i.      António (José Pimentel?)

                                                            ii.      José (Pimentel?)

                                                          iii.      Fructuoso José Pimentel, born 8 July 1771, São Mateus, Praia. He was married at São Mateus, Praia in 15 February 1795 to Rosa Joaquina do Coração de Jesus or Rosa Joaquina de Santo António, born 1778, São Mateus, Praia. They had:

1.      Manuel de Sousa Pimentel born at São Mateus, Graciosa. He was married to Prudência Rosa do Coração de Jesus in 26 May 1845 at São Mateus, Praia She was the daughter of Bartolomeu (Correia) Picanço and Maria Joaquina de São Francisco. They had:

a.     José de Sousa da Silva married to Francisca Carolina de Bettencourt in 11 May 1868 at Sta. Cruz (my greatgrandparents)

                                                         iv.      Francisco (José Pimentel?)

                                                           v.      João (Pimentel?)

I am related to Francisco Pais. I have his baptismal record. He was baptized on Feb. 18, 1670 in Sao Mateus, Praia. The film is #1547223. I can find the copy if you want it. His father was Mattias Pais. His mother was Maria de Cunha.

 

He married Maria  on 18 Aug 1691, also in the Sao Mates parish. The film for that is 1547249. I have a copy of it also. I can find it if you would like a copy.

 

I ended with his parents. I follow the same descendants until you get to Fructuoso José Pimentel. I go through his daughter Maria Izabel Coracao de Jesus instead of  his son Manuel.

 

Wow, I haven't found many online connections to my family. How exciting! Happy New Year!

Hi Eliseu, BoaventurePimentel  Pais is my 4th great grandfather . I His son Manuel Jose Pimentel is my direct line. He married Leonarda Rosa Mello.  Their son is Antonio Jose Pimentel. His son is also Antonio Jose Pimentel. His daughter Rosa Emelia Pimentel is my grandfather 's mother.

I am asking your attention to the little differences we have. I would like to clear my doubts.

a)      Where may I find that BOAVENTURA PIMENTEL is also PAIS as his father was?

b)      I do not understand your note saying that FRUCTUOSO and MANUEL are brothers!!! I have a MANUEL son of BOAVENTURA and an ANTÓNIO son of MANUEL.

c)       You say that FRUCTUOSO and MANUEL are Brothers…

 

Do you have any dates for these persons?

 

I can send you  a GEDCOM. Can you do the same?

 

I also have copies of the original marriage lists from S. Mateus, PRAIA, Graciosa. If you like any information please let me know about.

Hi Eliseu, I am sorry but I made a mistake about Manuel and Furtuso. I have  Manuel Jose Pimentel born Feb. 24, 1739-40 Married Feb. 03, 1762 to Leonarda Rosa de Mello born Dec. 5, 1743 . His parents are Boventura Pimentel Pais and Francisca Pereira Vasconcellos. Her parents are Antonio Vaz Ferreira and Maria Ajuda. 

  Children.

 Antonio Jose Pimentel Sr. born March 29, 1765 Marr. Maria Flora Joaquina Oct. 29, 1798

 Jose Pimentel born July 28, 1778?

 

Furtuso Jose Pimentel born July 08, 1771

 Francisco Jose Pimentel  born July 08, 1771

 

Joao Pimentel born March 28, 1779

Antonio is my direct ancestor.  Sorry but these names do get confusing. I have family from every island and have been trying to work on all of them.  If you put my name on googleyou will be able to see the book that I did on my fathers maternal side.    Henrietta Mello Mayer  on google

Hi , I am sorry but I don,t know of any Mello,s in Gloucester that are part of my family . The Mello,s from this family went to Bermuda, Texas, Sao George , Stonington, Ct. and New Bedford, MA. but you never know they went all over. Henrietta

Hi, I don't know what book you mean. If it is called Silva Descendants , Portuguese Genealogy by Henrietta Mello Mayer than it is my book . I am doing a supplement and some corrections on it now. When I did the book back in 1965. I didn't have access to the records from the Azores.Some of the names and dates have to be corrected.
