Hi!
   While searching the Massachusetts Vital Records, there was a Mello on the microfilm page they sent me.  I scanned it and sent it to this group but never saw it posted;
   The Vital Records has births, marriages and deaths.  It's 50 cents a page that they send you - well worth it to me.

Shirl, do you remember what vital record or date this was from?

Thanks,
Dolores

Hi!
   I'm visiting "the kids" in California and have to read my email on-line.  I'll be home January 23.  I can scan it in again and send it to you.  Right now, I don't remember much about it except it was a Mello and I know some of you were looking for that name.  All my info is at home.  There's no way I can reach my home "sent" file from the internet - darn!

Hi Tony,

It would be more helpful it you would give full names and dates, spouses name and so forth. As you state there are many Mellos in MA. Do you know what Island and village they came from or when they came to this country?

I have these Fairhaven/NB MA Mello's. Jose Duarte and Maria Jacintha, their son went by the name Manuel Duarte Mello (so maybe his mother was a Mello) b. 1872 Sao Miguel. So far, I do not have any other children for them. Manuel Duarte Mello married Francisca Victoria Amaral Costa b. 1877 Sao Miguel. She has a sister Maria Vittoria b. abt. 1869 who married Antone Resendes. Came to US 1891 according to census records. This is as far back as I have been able to take them so far.
