Brandao/Mendonca Marriage Sao Jorge Nordeste

I was hoping someone in the group might  be able to make out a date in this record of my gggg grandparents marriage.  I can make out and translate most of the information . I know the marriage date which was 20 May 1819 and I know all  the names including the newlyweds Manuel Brandao and Vitoria de Mendonca, but about 2/3 of the way down there is an additional year date which looks to be 1792 but after her parents names Rosa de Mendonca and Sepriano do Amaral  I cant make out what this is referencing.  Is this the date of her baptism.  It appears to be 24 May 1792. It also appears that there are 2 crude signatures on the bottom of the document. The document is signed by the Cura Bonifacio Jose Frutuoso and there are also 2 fairly crude  signatures for possibly the witnesses, Joao Raposo and Manuel da Silva and also a x sign which would mean someone couldn't write.  But why would there be a x if the 2 witnesses already signed? Was there a 3rd witness or testemunha?  Was this the grooms X?

Hi!

If you look into some other documents of this kind you will see (I am giving an example)

 

He de Joam + Cruz.

 

As the one going to sign did not know how to write, the person writing the document will do this:

 

He de Joam    Cruz.

 

Then the person who the signature was supposed to belong would draw a cross in between the names. So you would have:

-          He de Joam + Cruz (old Portuguese. Means: this signature belongs to Joam da Cruz)

 

This is why we say in Portuguese: to sign with a cross! This means that you are accepting something without knowing what it is, kind of accepting blindly!!!

 

 

The dates:

-          He was baptized in the same parish on the 20^th March, 1792

-          She was baptized in the 24^th May, 1792

Was that a typo because the marriage shows 20 January 1819, not May 20, 1819
