Visiting relatives ?
Many of the original 15th century settlers of the Azores came from the Flanders region, a byproduct of the Hundred Years’ Anglo-French war and the English Treaty of Windsor signed with Portugal in the late 14th century.

I wasn't aware there were census records available. Could you please
give more information about this Portuguese census?

Yolanda,
Bom Dia - do you have any records from Calheta, Sao
Jorge? My family is from the Calheta / Ribeira Seca / Manadas /
Urzelina areas in Sao Jorge and I know that most of those records came
out of the offices in Calheta. Affonso Mancebo / Machado Homem /
