Carlos,

The link below will give a crew list for sailing into New Bedford between 1810-1860.  So if he sailed to New Bedford in that time period, then maybe this will help:

Hi Cheri,

Is there someplace to look for crew lists for non-whaling ships that
sailed into New Bedford? My ggf was reportedly a ship captain but we
were told that it was not a whaling ship. I did search this website
but did not find him although I used variations of his name. We were
told that his name was listed in "the maritime museum in Boston".
Of course we've also been told that he was buried in Hawaii and on San
Miguel!

Thx.

Judy,

I don't know of any.  I think the ones with the most knowledge would be those at the New Bedford Library - in the genealogy dept.  That would be Paul Cyr or Joan Barney.  I'm not sure Joan is still in the genealogy dept, but she's the one who worked on the crew list so she may know of others.

Paul Cyr's email is here as well as the phone number for the genealogy dept of the New Bedford Public library (near the bottom):
http://www.newbedford-ma.gov/Library/search.html

I would think that Joan's email would be jbarney at sailsinc dot org

Hope one of them can give you an answer.  If you find out of other databases (online or not) will you post it here for others please?

Thanks,
