abbreviation Fernandez or Gonzalez

The abbreviations for Fernandez and Gonzales seem so similar to me

Is Maria Martins father named Andre FERNANDEZ RAPOZO? I know the mother is Maria Goncalvez. The Fernandez abbreviation does look different but not sure. I found this name on Family Search but it said Fernandez. But then, they didn't enter the name Rapozo either. Is is Rapozo after the name Fernandez?

Hi Maria helena,

Andre Frs (Fernandes) :OK. But, Raposo doesn't seem correct. Look the name Roiz (Rodrigues). The "R" is differentt of the first letter.

Perhaps a "B" like Bispado (4 lines upper), or Borges (2 lines upper) and Bernabe in the next mariage (in the "testemunhas", 2nd line from end).

After the B, it's difficult ; Bis...  the final sign is probably a "v" (like Vigario of the priest signature). "Bisvo" ??? is not usual to me. 

It's need other text about the Andre Fernandes (child batism or mariage).

Thank you so much for looking at this.  It seems the word is something  like Bispo (bishop?). Maybe it was a nickname (?).  Like you said, we need more records to verify.  

I found two people on the Azores List that descend from this family.  We have been collaborating on these ancestors.  Merci bien.

J'ai recherché dans ma base de données. Bien que cela soit un peu différent, il existe deux noms qui ressemblent un peu au nom après Fernandes : Brioso e Bravo. Mais, c'est peut-être un nickname, as you said.
