Is anyone interested in taking over the administration of this group for crossings 17/18 please?

It takes very little time, you simply check the joining email account regularly and add email addresses to the Google group. A standard message is sent welcoming the new member to the group.  You then add the details to the Crossers Document.  And that's it!

You don't have to coordinate Nets or organise group crossings, members can do that in groups independently if they want to.

John from Petronella (now nearly sold!) has kindly agreed to continue to support the group with his ICT knowledge and expertise so there is always someone who can help you out with any queries.

We are also looking for a new administrator for the return crossings from West to East as well, we had a few members last year and it was quite successful.

Go on, don't be shy, volunteer and get involved, it's been fun and we've met loads of great people along the way.

Wishing you all fair winds.

Best wishes
Jackie

Hello Jackie,

Sorry can’t volunteer but did want to thank you and all around you who made this group work.

It was always comforting to know that we could go to folks in a similar experience for advice/help etc.

Best wishes,

Annette & Peter

Not exactly the answer you are looking for however:

I would be available to help with both projects from now until the beginning of November.

Our boat is on the hard in Grenada having crossed back last year.  We are back in Quebec until we return at the beginning of November to relaunch Milvina.  Internet on the boat after November will not be satisfactory to continue assisting with the project – we have Winlink and Satphone internet and have tried Digicel sim cards but do not think that I could administer the group with the service we have.

So until November I can help – you can call me at +1 450 777 9443 or skype me if you think that what I am offering would be helpful.

Ron and I, formerly of SV Gemini, are so pleased that our little group is still alive and well.  We started the ACG in 2013 in Marina d'Ragusa as an alternative to the organized rallies. Our purpose was to  provide for the sharing of information relevant to the crossing.  We kept in touch through the "Net" during the crossing, too.  In addition, it could serve to help fellow voyagers meet up in the various ports along the way. Seems like it is a accomplishing this!

We have sold Gemini, and bought a home. Everything in its time.  We wish you all fair winds and following seas!!

Hi Jackie,

I can pick it up if you like.

I moderate the Yahoo Icom 710 group and a couple of fora as well as a private email list. I have crossed the Atlantic and have many 10s of thousands of miles between the Caribbean and the US Midatlantic and New England. Other than some deliveries I don't expect to be away from the computer for the 17/18 season.

Just let me know if I can help.

sail fast and eat well, dave

Hi Dave

Thanks for your email and offer of help, which is gratefully accepted.

We're off sailing today for a few days so I'll follow up when we get back on dry land.

Thanks to all others who have offered help, much appreciated.

Best wishes
Jackie
