Anyone departing independently for Europe? "Destiny of Scarborough" planning to leave Tortola toward the end April for UK. Is anyone also making the West bound passage around that time.

OOPS
Thanks for pointing my 'West bound' mistake! Hopefully get the direction correct on the water!

Hi David

I'm leaving Havana on Saturday 22nd April for Bahamas then Bermuda. ETA Azores early June and depart for UK mid June. Probably spend most of time in Azores in Horta, Faial.

Horta holds Sea Week in June. Not sure of dates but plan to be there for that week. It's a good gig if you going that way.

Hi Tom
Thanks for the email.  I am on a bit of a whistle stop circuit having left the Turkey in June 16 and needing to be back in UK by this June.
Have a good sail and whilst I'll look out for you in Azores, I will probably have departed by then.

All the best

Dave

I strongly recommend visiting Angra on Terceira esp for the festival of Sanjoaninas.
It is great fun and the marina is excellent- you can also anchor but it can be a tad rolly.

Ruby Tuesday update.

We have decided to stay over this side of the big pond for at least another year. We are now in Bahamas (heading for Georgetown today) aiming for Charleston in about a months time then up the coast to Maine, maybe Halifax, then back down for next winter.

Just arrived in Bermuda but leaving for new York in a few days.
We have been advised that the best place to anchor during the Americas Cup 26 May onwards, is going to be in St George's harbour. Then get a bus, 2 hours and 36km, 4.5 dollars, to the dockyard. Most other seemingly good anchorages need local knowledge.
