Dear ArcSWAT users,

I'm using ArcSWAT 2009 and I've used the SSURGO Tool found at http://www.bae.ksu.edu/watershed/ashesh/swatiotools.html to develop the lookup table and update the 'usersoils' database in SWAT2009.mdb. After successfully using the SSURGO Tool, I go to the Land Use/Soils/Slope Definition window in ArcSWAT to upload the soil grid and lookup table but I get this error....

"The soil ' ' does not exist in the usersoils database. Correct problem and try again."

What can be the problem? I've already updated the 'usersoils' database generated from the SSURGO Tool but I still get this error.

All the best,
Abdullah

Dear
first of all check if you are using the ACCESS 2007 or 2010 if the security macro is enabeled. any change you make with access 2007/2010 will not be visible. it will be visible if you open your mdb with Access 2003 for example . Anoher way it is easier to fill the soil data from the editor window of the SWAT model and don't forget to save changes

I'm using Access 2010, but I don't think that matters because the
SSURGO tool that I downloaded appends the SSURGO soil data to the
'usersoils' database. I can see the changes clearly. The SSURGO soils
are in 'usersoils' in SWAT2009.mdb.

Do you or anyone else have any other suggestions?

Thank you for taking the time to help me overcome this problem!

All the best,
Abdullah

May be one or few soil information is missing in usersoil table. make sure the correct.mdb file is loaded for the model setup: just check whether you could see the soil in formation in ArcSWAT-Edit SWAT Input-databases-usersoils.

SSURGO soild database is also available in swat website - http://swat.tamu.edu/software/arcswat/       .. may be you can you use it if you still have problems with sssurgo tool..

In addition to what Cibin suggested, I would also check the lookup table  (that connects the soil raster with soil database) for any extra spaces at the end of file. I say that because ArcSWAT seems to have picked up a soil with no name (i.e. soil ' ') from your input data.

Hope that helps.

@cibin
I double checked the soil info in my usersoil table and it matched exactly with my lookup table that the the SSURGO tool generated. I also checked it through the ArcSWAT interface. I'll try using the SSURGO database on the SWAT website to see if it will work in my model.

@Naresh Pai
This was my first concern but I've already corrected that problem. When the SSURGO tool generated the lookup table, there were spaces at the end of the file. I've deleted those spaces and I still get that same error. Every soil in my lookup table has a name. Maybe you can take a look at my lookup table and see if there is anything wrong?

All the best,
Abdullah

Try to shorten the soil names and avoid using hyphens. I don't know if this will solve the problem, but it may be worth trying.

Also, the following previous thread may help:
