Hi Everyone

In case of interest, I wanted to mention to members of the forum that the next international symposium of CIPA (ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Heritage Documentation) is scheduled take place in Beijing between August 28 and September 1 of 2021. CIPA symposia are held every 2 years, and several implementations of Arches have been presented at past symposia. CIPA 2021 could be a good opportunity for some of your Arches projects to share your work as well.

The call for papers is now online at:

Session A includes several topics relating to cultural heritage inventories. The deadline for submitting abstracts for CIPA 2021 is February 28.

I’ve been involved in CIPA for a number of years and, generally, I have found CIPA symposia to be good opportunities to learn about the latest approaches to heritage recording and documentation, and also for meeting other heritage professionals around the world who focus on this topic.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Also please feel free to forward this message to any of your other colleagues.

Best wishes,
David

Hi Everyone

Just an update to let you know that the deadline to submit extended abstracts for the CIPA 2021 symposium has been extended to April 15. The deadline for submitting full papers (a second option for submissions) is April 30. It would be great to see members of the Arches community share their projects.

Also, the organizers announced that the CIPA 2021 symposium (held in Beijing) will be run in a hybrid format, with presenters from China presenting in-person, and others presenting virtually. You can find more details in my original post below.

Best,
David
