Hello Lenore,

Yes you heard correct. We are the US service center for Vario Ultra displays
located in Grass Valley. We started doing this last summer and word is still
spreading. We have repaired about 40 displays so far. From ultrasonic
cleaning to full blown repairs we can do it. Also carry replacement carry
cases and straps.

For people looking for repairs, please contact us at in...@irti.net,
tif...@irti.net or 800-322-4784 to get an RMA for service.

Thank you!
Tiffany Pearson

To whom it may concern:

My name is Lenore Presley. I am a DeafBlind woman living in Sacramento, CA.
I am not a customer or anything. I am writing to inquire whether your
company is servicing VarioUltra braille displays, formerly manufactured by
BAUM in Germany.

I am on the AppleBraille mailing group list. Word has gone out that your
company had agreed to service or repair VarioUltra braille displays after
BAUM went bankrupt in Germany. I would like to verify the information with
you. Please advise me if your company is servicing the displays and if so,
where. In Grass Valley?

Thank you in advance for your consideration and response to this e-mail
inquiry.

Sincerely yours,

Lenore Presley ;o)

Thanks, Lenore, for sharing the information. I am a bit surprised that it has been opened since last summer which is almost one year ago. They also sell VU's, too.

Thanks again.

Jeff here.

Was it expensive to have your VU's serviced?

Thank you in advance.

tiffany,

okay, fine. peter proscia did mention to me of another peter
communicating with other company in massachusetts regarding of
difficulties of pairingĀ  vu and iphone if we reboot vu displays. since
ios 13 made effective, it cut pairing and we had to get someone to help
pairing like my sister coming over my house a lot. but after you fixed
the settings with new version, this works much better than before. hope
this helps.

sincerely,

rich
