Is this a matter of missing drivers?
dmesg shows several lines with "no backend DAIs enabled for Baytrail Audio Port
The mentioned functions are the only major ones I've tested so far.
I installed from USB to a 10GB partition on my one and only hard drive, alongside the Windows 10 that cam with the tablet.
I've tried EasyUEFI and Grub2win to manage the boot. Most direct is EasyUEFI, after choosing to install grub2 EFI during the android installation.
Will test reboots switching between Windows 10 and Android 7.1rc to verify functionality survives restarts.

This device has a non-standard UEFI firmware also, meaning it won't by default present a boot menu (even with something like Grub2win installed). So I need to use a program like Easy UEFI to reboot to the UEFI menu to then select PhoenixOS. I was able to change a boot setting in firmware so that the Esc key option appears, and if pressed enough on startup, I can get to the UEFI menu that way.
Hope this helps others having issues with a Nextbook or similar lower end 2-in-1 device.
