I'm trying to run Android-x86 on my Dell Venue 11 Pro.  It's very similar to the Asus T100.
It runs reasonably well with this image that Chih-Wei posted for the Asus T100 https://groups.google.com/d/msg/android-x86/FUiFCtrgc6I/Fqt8Rg-fpQkJ

What work:
* Graphic
* Touch
* Audio (sometimes)
* Battery
* Reboot/shutdown
* Backlight

Not work:
* Wifi
* Bluetooth
* Sensors
* Camera
* MicroSD
* Internal Mic
* Power and volume buttons

I have a couple module I want to add but I haven't been able to make an image that works as well as the one above.
Lately I've tried pstglia's android kernel branches, both 3.16 and 3.18 from this post https://groups.google.com/d/msg/android-x86/WF3lSiLVFgs/mQ8A_oaHt9sJ

When I run my own image the graphics are very sluggish and I get a lot of messages like this:
<5>[    4.329687] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI removable disk
<6>[    4.644296] sdhci: Timeout waiting for Buffer Read Ready interrupt during tuning procedure, falling back to fixed sampling clock

<3>[    4.676808] EXT3-fs (mmcblk0): error: unable to read superblock

Attached is the cpuinfo, lsmod and dmesg proc/modules, etc. from my build based on pstglia/v3.18-rc6_android branch

Any help on how I can build an image that's equivalent to Chih-Wei's android-x86-t100.img is greatly appreciated.

never mind....just checked them out since their release...

they worked in "stealth mode" for 18 months to remaster Android for PC...and take peoples money...

saying things like:

Out of the gates, we will support (over!) 25 iconic Laptops, PCs, x86 tablets and convertible devices with Console OS. And, here they are:

Dell: XPS 11, XPS 12, XPS 13, and XPS 15, Venue 8 Pro, Venue 11 Pro

yet now they don't....oh well...they got a lot of peoples money...don't think they really care...

Do I need to have the keyboard and mouse connected..? coz I tried without them.. I'm asking this coz I've seen the boot menu selection go crazy when I do it with vol rockers but its fine when its done with a keyboard.. anyway I'll try it out with both of those connected !!

I thought there was a working patch for WiFi.. please correct me if I’m wrong..
and also can you please tell me how to make the build for DVP8 (I mean a working one with touch and display like Chih-Wei)
I'd which device tree and kernel to use for best results on my DVP8
By the looks of it anything for t100 works good for dvp8 so basically whats the device tree and kernel to be used for t100?? thanks in advance..

My Venue 11 Pro has the lower resolution 1366x768 screen which is the same as the T100, Is yours by chance 1920x1080?

Also, are you entering from the boot options menu on boot?  Hold volume up right after you power one?  I saw a thread where it made a difference how you booted as to how well the display worked on the T100 and I've seen that when I was messing with at T100

I made the live disk my first boot device.. It did make a difference to the boot menu, this time it seems to fit to my resolution.. but I selected the first option.. I got some log then a blank screen, nothing else… but When I try to boot it without making it the first boot device then it gives me boot animation and the start - distorted though.. its a resolution problem..
If someone could tell me what device tree and kernel to use to make the same image as chih
Wei with different resolution, it would be really helpful
