Well, for anyone who has upped their
usage of amazon.com since the corona-
virus pandemic, you may or may not be
happy to know you've helped Jeff Bezos
become the world's first 200 Billion-
aire.

For quite some time, he's been among
the world's -4- centibillionaires, a
term used in the following article to
describe those worth at least $100
billion, including Facebook's Mark
Zuckerberg (4th at $109.1 billion), ...

... LVMH's Bernard Arnault (3rd at
about $115 billion, LVMH a multi-
national conglomerate specializing
in luxury goods, the Hennessy por-
tion resulting from a merger 'tween
champagne & cognac producers), ..

... Microsoft's Bill Gates (2nd at
$116.1 billion), and due in large
part since March, 2020 to the cor-
onavirus pandemic, amazon.com's
Jeff Bezos (1st at $204.6 billion).

I suppose that since no human has
ever been worth $200 billion, they
haven't yet come up with a synonym
for that.

Well, I tried finding more about that,
but all I found was an article which
said "MSNBC’s Ari Melber reports on a
long-running feud with billionaire
Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos ...",
but the following link just had one
paragraph in it:
https://www.msnbc.com/the-beat-with-ari/watch/losing-again-trump-s-postal-plot-backfires-amidst-bezos-feud-90398277767

Meanwhile, I found a few articles per-
taining to billionaires:

---
September 1, 2020

Former Mrs. Bezos now
richest woman in the world
https://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/former-mrs-bezos-now-richest-woman-world-wall-street-highs-n1239033
---

... MacKenzie Scott, a novelist and
philanthropist who recently divorced
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, is now the
wealthiest woman in the world.

Last week, Tesla CEO Elon Musk overtook
Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zucker-
berg to become the third-richest man in
the world, after Jeff Bezos and Bill
Gates. ...

---

Comment: Hmmm, don't know what source
that article was using - the following
appears to be the latest info as it says
it "reflects changes since 5pm EST of
prior trading day", with the 2 indivi-
duals mentioned above (MacKenzie Scott ...

... & Elon Musk) ranking slightly lower
than stated above (wikipedia links to
each of the following have been added,
note that the following figures aren't
present at the wikipedia links):

1. Elon Musk $189.6 billion (Tesla, SpaceX) [increased $10.4 billion since yesterday]

But is he happy? Probably, though unfortunately,
even though each of us likes to think we'll live
forever and won't die early, we're all susceptible
to the whims & fortunes of outrageous fate (i.e.,
naturalism) & as I well know from battling depres-
sion from age 8 'til I was cured thanks to 2 meds ...

... in 2005, since retiring (existing thanks to my
dad helping me get a government-assisted apart-
ment in 2005 & being fired from Walmart leading
to my early retirement -hmmm, I'd have to look
that up- whenever I did that) I've been happier
than I've been my whole life, freed from the ...

... burdens of having to work for a living & simply
enjoying using the internet for entertainment &
writing (with 2 big screens -55 inchers- + 1 small
screen) meeting my meager needs at a thus far
acceptable level. My net worth, hmmm, haven't
ever figured that out, but it's enough to stay ...

... alive happily since 2005 & retiring early, thus
far, probably it's very close to -0- , ranking I dunno,
4 billionth? (-;

Indeed, the Forbes website moved Elon to the top today.
What prompted me to update this was prompted by the
following article yesterday:

I've updated his & Jeff Bezos's Forbes rankings above.

Elon Musk the whacko genius who I invested my money in when I brought a Tesla

Well apparently he lost 15 billion bucks just by simply tweeting about bitcoin investments.

It's good to lose 15 billion when you have 180 plus billion left...

So, I'm working on a post regarding the Beatles'
hits, including hits after they broke up, by Paul
McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, &
Ringo Starr, & some point along the way I look
up their net worth and am surprised to discover
that the richest, Paul McCartney, his net worth ...

... is $1.2 billion, much lower than I expected.
https://www.msn.com/en-xl/news/other/paul-mccartney-net-worth-2021-is-he-the-richest-rock-star/ar-BB1cy84E

As for his rank among celebrities (a list of top
50 'celebrities' that's different than the billionaire
list by Forbes), he's ranked 8th:
https://www.celebritynetworth.com/list/top-50-richest-celebrities/

Other celebrities I'm familiar with on that list:

1. George Lucas (American Graffiti/Star Wars/Indiana Jones movies) $10 billion
2. Steven Spielberg (director of huge list of movies) $7.5 billion
4. Oprah Winfrey (TV host/interviewer) $3.5 billion
6. Kim Kardashian (reality TV/model) $1.4 billion
10. David Copperfield (famous magician) $1 billion

11. JK Rowling (Harry Potter books/movies) $1 billion
12. Jerry Seinfeld (famous comedian/TV star) $950 million
14. Herb Alpert (Tijuana Brass fame in 1960s) $850 million
15. Madonna (famous singer since 1980s) $850 million

23. Bono (U2 famous musical group since 1980s) $700 million
24. James Cameron (famous director Terminator/Terminator 2/Aliens/True Lies/Titanic/Avatar) $700 million
25. Kylie Jenner (reality TV/model) $700 million
26. Yoko Ono (John Lennon's wife) $700 million
27. Dolly Parton (singer/theme park Dollywood) $650 million
29. Howard Stern (radio interviewer/TV appearances) $650 million

37. Tom Cruise (actor) $600 million

41. George Clooney (actor) $500 million
44. Keith Richards (Rolling Stones) $500 million
45. Mick Jagger (Rolling Stones) $500 million
47. Robert De Niro (actor) $500 million

Don't know why, but Forbes doesn't even have
Paul McCartney on their list of the richest 2,674,
all with net worth $1 billion and above. He should
be, if $1.2 billion is correct, tied for position 2,378th.

Top 200 / Next 2,464 billionaires

By the way, Jeff Bezos, about to spend 11 minutes

on top of the billionaire list with net worth $177
billion, Elon Musk is 2nd at net worth $151 billion.

Why I keep up with billionaires? I dunno, just a
proclivity of mine that wrongly associates being
rich with being happy, something that many of
the billionaires have, but since money can't buy
happiness (or so the saying goes) presumably
some of them don't.

Myself, happier than I've ever been, getting rid
of my depression thanks to Wellbutrin XL & Mir-
tazapine back in 2005, I think, along with taking
early retirement & having sufficient money to live
on thanks to a government-subsidized apartment
I live in & despite spending more than I made for
almost my entire life.

Not working, that's a big help, as I rarely enjoyed
any of the jobs I had for very long, a near lifelong
depression I'd had since age 8 a major factor in
that, although that work thing, it never really was
my thing, just something I did 'cause I had to to
survive, & I'm enjoyng early retirement immensely.

Anyway, back to billionaires, here's the Fortune
400 list as of September 3 2021:
https://www.forbes.com/forbes-400/

1 is worth over $200 billion, Jeff Bezos, Amazon,
age 57, worth $201 billion.

~~~
1 is worth over $190 billion, Elon Musk, Tesla /
SpaceX, age 50, worth $190.5 billion.
~~~

6 are worth over $100 billion up to $134.5 billion:

3 Mark Zuckerberg ... $134.5 billion, Facebook, age 37.

4 Bill Gates ................ $134 billion, Microsoft, age 65.

5 Larry Page .............. $123 billion, Google

6 Sergey Brin ............. $118.5 billion, Google

7 Larry Ellison ............ $117.3 billion, Oracle (software)

8 Warren Buffett ........ $102 billion, Berkshire Hathaway holding company,
notable holdings include 26.7% of Heinz, 18.8% of American Express,
11.9% of Bank of America, 9.3% of Coca-Cola, 6.3% of Apple, per the
following article as of October 5 2021: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berkshire_Hathaway

~~~
10 are worth $50 billion to $96.5 billion,
spots 9th-richest to 18th-richest.
~~~

59 are worth $10 billion to $37.4 billion,
spots 19th-richest to 77th richest.

~~~
144 are worth $5 billion to $9.9 billion,
spots 78th richest to 221st-richest
including the 86th richest Jerry Jones,
worth $9.1 billion, Dallas Cowboys owner.
~~~

178 are worth $2.9 billion to $4.9 billion,
spots 222nd-richest to 400th-richest.

Exogenous insulin, which I depend on to try to
stay alive, having dealt with Islit (Insulinitis, near-
total to total loss of endogenous insulin) since
age 5, should work fine at that height, albeit I
may have to switch to using insulin injections

no plans to be sent into space, not in the fore-
seeable future, though I live very near where
SpaceX is testing / launching some of their ...

... largest vehicles to be sent to the moon &
Mars in the coming years, & that's due to Elon

building his new Starbase, Texas about 180

Don't know how the 'wealth' is computed for the
following lists, but for reasons unknown, the
wealth of Russia's leader Vladimir Putin is not
listed anywhere on the following lists (he's mys-
teriously missing though other Russians are
present on both lists):

~/~ https://www.forbes.com/real-time-billionaires/
1. Elon Musk $225.1 billion
2. Bernard Arnault & family $182.8 billion
3. Jeff Bezos $176.1 billion

~/~ https://www.bloomberg.com/billionaires/
1. Elon Musk $212 billion
2. Jeff Bezos $175 billion
3. Bernard Arnault $157 billion

Putin's vast personal wealth has come into question
https://www.gbnews.uk/news/vladimir-putins-jaw-dropping-200bn-fortune-revealed-as-russia-on-brink-of-war-with-ukraine/232324
---

... US hedge fund manager Bill Browder estimates
Putin's worth to be around $200 billion, however,
others believe this figure could be even higher. ...

Another follow-up:

As reported on May 19 2023, Bernard
Arnault & Family were the world's rich-
est, followed by Elon Musk & Jeff Bezos:
https://groups.google.com/g/alt.sports.football.pro.dallas-cowboys/c/xyt6fLgwjQ4/m/jozA9iM1AgAJ

1. Bernard Arnault & family $231.9 Billion
2. Elon Musk ...................... $184.7 Billion
3. Jeff Bezos ...................... $139.1 Billion

The latest from Forbes still has Bernard
Arnault as the world's richest, although
Elon Musk shows up as the 2nd $200
billionaire slightly behind Arnault:
https://www.forbes.com/real-time-billionaires/

1. Bernard Arnault & family ... $219.9 Billion
2. Elon Musk .......................... $207.6 Billion
3. Jeff Bezos .......................... $147.5 Billion

However, another entity says Elon Musk
& Bernard Arnault are not $200 billionaires
& Elon is now the world's richest human
as of June 1 2023:
https://www.bloomberg.com/billionaires/

1. Elon Musk ............ $195 Billion
2. Bernard Arnault ... $187 Billion
3. Jeff Bezos ........... $146 Billion

Forbes and Bloomberg amounts differ
https://www.google.com/search?q=Forbes+and+Bloomberg+amounts+differ

As for Putin's wealth, said to be $200 billion
by an article written before Russia's war on
Ukraine last year, with the freezing of assets
of so many Russian oligarchs since then, &
the huge cost of the war, & the fact that ...

... only estimates are available, it remains a
guessing game as to what Putin's wealth
actually is & that guess varies widely from
article to article:
