White House told of Libyan attack claim Sept. 11

Read more:
http://www.dailystar.com.lb/News/Middle-East/2012/Oct-24/192544-emails-white-house-told-of-militant-claim-two-hours-after-libya-attack.ashx

Two hours after the U.S. Consulate came under attack in Benghazi,
Libya, the White House was told that a militant group was claiming
responsibility for the violence that killed the U.S. ambassador and
three other Americans.

A State Department email sent to intelligence officials and the White
House situation room said the Islamist group Ansar al-Sharia claimed
responsibility on Facebook and Twitter, and also called for an attack
on the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli.

The document may fuel Republican efforts to show that the White House
knew it was a terrorist attack, even as the U.S. ambassador to the
United Nations was saying - five days afterward - that it appeared to
be a protest gone awry.

The Obama administration's account of the Benghazi events has become a
campaign issue, with Republican challenger Mitt Romney and Republican
lawmakers accusing the White House of misleading Americans about the
nature of the attack.

The Associated Press and other news organizations obtained the
unclassified email and two related emails from government officials
who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak
about them publicly.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Wednesday that the
review board she appointed to investigate the attack is "looking at
everything," rather than "cherry picking one story here or one
document there."

White House press secretary Jay Carney said the emails represented
just one piece of information the administration was receiving at the
time.

Claiming responsibility.

Any idea how many people come forward "claiming responsibility" for crimes
each and every day?

How would you respond if they'd immediately leaped forward saying it was a
terrorist act and that the Constitution needed to be suspended, with all
rights removed, until they "cleared things up"?

Oh, wait, that would be the PATRIOT Act...

This was a cover-up by the Obama administration of several maginitudes
greater than the Nixon cover-up. Biden denied the any knowledge of a
request for more diplomatic security forces in Libya. Biden's comment
"we weren't told". Yet the administration knew this was a terrorist
attack within two hours of the attack. They were aware of this attack
going on for seven hours yet, did nothing to provide support for the
four Americans who were murdered. Help was only an hour away. Obama went
to the Rose Garden in the AM next day, spoke and then went on a fund
raising campaign. At least with the Nixon cover-up he didn't have blood
on his hands.

Don't get me started on what I think of the patriot act. That or
Obama expansion of his powers in that area.

The changes to the Posse Comitatus Act done by Bush.

The New Imperial Presidency
http://hpronline.org/covers/constitution/the-new-imperial-presidency/

While the Constitution meticulously lays out the workings and duties
of the legislative branch, the founding fathers commentary on the
executive branch proved significantly more limited. The powers
explicitly granted to the President are wholly contained within
Article II, Section II. Among the few responsibilities listed are
judicial appointments and control over the military.

Today, the Executive Branch plays an increasingly important role in
both foreign and domestic affairs. Not only does the President set his
partys domestic legislative agenda, he can even commit troops to
conflict abroad without Congressional consent. The growth of
Presidential authority in the ill-defined War on Terror, demonstrated
by President Obamas controversial targeted killing of American Anwar
al-Awlaki, indicates a need for Congress and the Supreme Court to
check the executive branchs growing authority.

**********************

The only things lately the 2 parties agree on is there expansion of
power.

That is beyond stupid.

The next morning after the attack, Obama called it a terror attack.

This "evidence" is basically al Qaeda claiming responsibility. You
call that credible, do ya? Are you saying you believe everything al
Qaeda tells us now? Or might it make sense to, I dunno... do an
investigation, perhaps?

That's not true, actually.

Frankly, I think Republicans should be ashamed of themselves for
exploiting this for political advantage. I've never seen anything so
disgusting in my life. And yes, I would have felt the same way of
Democrats had spent the weeks after the original 9/11 had gone after
Bush the same way.

While the Obama White House *ignored the frantic emails* from our Libyan
Embassy WHILE THEY WERE UNDER ATTACK, things were getting bad, very,
very bad...

http://www.examiner.com/article/lebanese-report-us-ambassador-raped-before-murdered

The Lebanese news organization Tayyar.org is reporting that the murdered
American ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens, was raped prior to
his killing September 11, 2012.

Tayyar.com also reported via Google translation from the original
Arabic, Ambassador Stevens:

"...was killed and representation of his body in a manner similar to
what happened with Gaddafi, such as murder."

According to the BBC, when the former Libyan strongman Colonel Moammar
Gaddafi was initially captured:

"Still images from an analysis of amateur video footage taken in the
moments after Col Gaddafi's capture appear to show him being sodomised
with a pole or knife."

The Washington Times has posted a video clip (left) reportedly
originating from the Libyan Free Press confirming the sodomization of
Ambassador Stevens prior to his murder.

As translated by The Washington Times, the Libyan reporter stated:

"Libya - USA Ambassador in Bengazi sodomized and killed by his own
al-Qaeda puppets."

Emails: White House told of militant claim two hours after Libya attack

(Reuters) - Officials at the White House and State Department were
advised two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission
in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had
claimed credit for the attack, official emails show.

The emails, obtained by Reuters from government sources not connected
with U.S. spy agencies or the State Department and who requested
anonymity, specifically mention that the Libyan group called Ansar
al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for the attacks.

The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even
as it was still under way, to Washington.

U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were
killed in the Benghazi assault, which President Barack Obama and other
U.S. officials ultimately acknowledged was a "terrorist" attack carried
out by militants with suspected links to al Qaeda affiliates or
sympathizers.

Administration spokesmen, including White House spokesman Jay Carney,
citing an unclassified assessment prepared by the CIA, maintained for
days that the attacks likely were a spontaneous protest against an
anti-Muslim film.

You're a piece of shit liar, bubbles, and you proved it right out of the
gate.

The embassy in Tripoli had put in a request for more protection a couple
of days earlier. Congress had cut the diplomatic embassy security by
$300 million and some of the hotspot regions were feeling exposed. The
consulate at Bengazi put in no such request. It wasn't considered a
danger spot.

It did ask for help during the attacks, (and were clearly under the
impression that the attacks stemmed from that video), but the requests
were directed to the embassy in Libya, not the White House.

The Washington Times has posted a video clip (left) reportedly
originating from the Libyan Free Press confirming the sodomization of
Ambassador Stevens prior to his murder.

As translated by The Washington Times, the Libyan reporter stated:

And yuked it up on David Letterman in the aftermath.

Wonder what would have happened to Bush under the same scenario?

Answer:

The press and the democrats would have raped him, cut off his ears, cut off
his head, taped wires from portable telephones to his genitals and turned up
the power, cut off his limbs, blown up his body, randomly shot at him, razed
his ranch in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot his cattle and dogs
for fun, poisoned his food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of

Well the military could be reorganized. We have a new form of warfare
countries use proxies and we call them terrorist. Iran has it down to
a art. We were invaded on 9/11 should we have nuked the country that
provides the funds or supplies the bases?

Our military isn't set up for these police actions, they aren't
trained for it.

Having nukes as a deterrent will sooner or later be tested. You
willing to turn one of the keys? If the collateral damage in Gaza
makes you scream remember that a 1000 fold worse as you turn the key.

We need a smaller but extremely well trained force. We also never
want a leader like Bush Jr who doesn't realize war is not a game.
There was no need to invade iraq. It made the world a more dangerous
place. We also don't want a wimp like we had in Carter both are
dangerous.

At the very least be honest about it. They knew the attack was NOT
about some video, but a terrorist attack using heavy weapons such as:
ROCKET-PROPELLED GRENADAS, 14.5 MM ANTI-ANTI-AIRCRAFT MACHINE GUNS. GUN
TRUCKS AND MORTARS. .
The Obama Administration Lied and deliberately deceived the people for
almost two weeks. This was a COVER-UP far worse than the NIXON
cover-up. With the Nixon cover-up no one died.

They knew about this but Obama went to the Rose Garden made a speech,
then on a political campaign while four Americans died. Want to know
what they could do? I know what they did not do. They did nothing.

The fact is Obama and his administration lied and engaged in a cover-up

Tell me would you be willing to use nukes on any country that attacked

The point is, NO ONE knew exactly what happened two hours after the
attack, and frankly, no one knows what happened even now, six weeks
later.

And that Republican fucktards are trying so hard to turn this into a
political event is disgusting. If Democrats had done that in 2001,
after the original 9/11, I would have said the same thing.

The spin is over, and you guys lost.

Romney has dropped the "Libya" talking points from his stump speech.

Good luck covering up the links between the Benghazi raid and our
wingnuts who put a stupid video on YouTube at just the right time.

And that video is _still_ in the Reuters stories about the attack.

"Former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice broke with the
majority of her party last night on Fox News, as she tried
to hit the brakes on the right wing’s politicization of
the recent attack in Libya.

Host Greta Van Susteren asked Rice directly and repeatedly
about a set of emails uncovered by Reuters. In what has been
dubbed “Benghazi-Gate,” the conservative media has jumped on
the emails as definitive proof that the Obama administration
has been lying about what it knew and when in the aftermath
of the Sept. 11 attack on a diplomatic mission in Benghazi.
Rice’s response was likely not what Van Susteren expected."

Fuckwit. Here's a transcript of the Rose Garden Speech, September 12,
2012:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/photos-and-video/video/2012/09/12/president-obama-speaks-attack-benghazi

Yesterday, four of these extraordinary Americans were killed in an
attack on our diplomatic post in Benghazi. Among those killed was our
Ambassador, Chris Stevens, as well as Foreign Service Officer Sean
Smith. We are still notifying the families of the others who were
killed. And today, the American people stand united in holding the
families of the four Americans in our thoughts and in our prayers.

The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and
shocking attack. We're working with the government of Libya to secure
our diplomats. I've also directed my administration to increase our
security at diplomatic posts around the world. And make no mistake, we
will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers
who attacked our people.

Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects
all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs
of others. But there is absolutely no justification to this type of
senseless violence. None. The world must stand together to
unequivocally reject these brutal acts.

(...)

No ***acts of terror*** will ever shake the resolve of this great
nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that
we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the
very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our
commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make
no mistake, justice will be done.

But we also know that the lives these Americans led stand in stark
contrast to those of their ***attackers.*** These four Americans stood
up for freedom and human dignity. They should give every American
great pride in the country that they served, and the hope that our
flag represents to people around the globe who also yearn to live in
freedom and with dignity.

We grieve with their families, but let us carry on their memory, and
let us continue their work of seeking a stronger America and a better
world for all of our children.

------------------------

There's also a video. I know you have a problem reading.

Try not to project exactly what you know you are guilty and start giving

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an
urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on
the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later was denied by
U.S. officials -- who also told the CIA operators twice to "stand down"
rather than help the ambassador's team when shots were heard at
approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.
Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA
annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens
and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired,
they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were
hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They
were told to "stand down," according to sources familiar with the exchange.
Soon after, they were again told to "stand down."

Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the
consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The rescue
team from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the consulate and
Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find
the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.

At that point, they called again for military support and help because they
were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied.
There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present
at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their
headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of
the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA
compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and
repeatedly requested back-up support from a Spectre gunship, which is
commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to
Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The
fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours -- enough time
for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive.
Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations
forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.

A Special Operations team, or CIF which stands for Commanders in Extremis
Force, operating in Central Europe had been moved to Sigonella, Italy, but
they were never told to deploy. In fact, a Pentagon official says there were
never any requests to deploy assets from outside the country. A second force
that specializes in counterterrorism rescues was on hand at Sigonella,
according to senior military and intelligence sources. According to those
sources, they could have flown to Benghazi in less than two hours. They were
the same distance to Benghazi as those that were sent from Tripoli. Spectre
gunships are commonly used by the Special Operations community to provide
close air support.

According to sources on the ground during the attack, the special operator
on the roof of the CIA annex had visual contact and a laser pointing at the
Libyan mortar team that was targeting the CIA annex. The operators were
calling in coordinates of where the Libyan forces were firing from.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta told reporters at the Pentagon on Thursday
that there was not a clear enough picture of what was occurring on the
ground in Benghazi to send help.

"There's a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking going on here," Panetta said
Thursday. "But the basic principle here ... is that you don't deploy forces
into harm's way without knowing what's going on."

U.S. officials argue that there was a period of several hours when the
fighting stopped before the mortars were fired at the annex, leading
officials to believe the attack was over.

Fox News has learned that there were two military surveillance drones
redirected to Benghazi shortly after the attack on the consulate began. They
were already in the vicinity. The second surveillance craft was sent to
relieve the first drone, perhaps due to fuel issues. Both were capable of
sending real time visuals back to U.S. officials in Washington, D.C. Any
U.S. official or agency with the proper clearance, including the White House
Situation Room, State Department, CIA, Pentagon and others, could call up
that video in real time on their computers.

Tyrone Woods was later joined at the scene by fellow former Navy SEAL Glen
Doherty, who was sent in from Tripoli as part of a Global Response Staff or
GRS that provides security to CIA case officers and provides
countersurveillance and surveillance protection. They were killed by a
mortar shell at 4 a.m. Libyan time, nearly seven hours after the attack on
the consulate began -- a window that represented more than enough time for
the U.S. military to send back-up from nearby bases in Europe, according to
sources familiar with Special Operations. Four mortars were fired at the
annex. The first one struck outside the annex. Three more hit the annex.

A motorcade of dozens of Libyan vehicles, some mounted with 50 caliber
machine guns, belonging to the February 17th Brigades, a Libyan militia
which is friendly to the U.S., finally showed up at the CIA annex at
approximately 3 a.m. An American Quick Reaction Force sent from Tripoli had
arrived at the Benghazi airport at 2 a.m. (four hours after the initial
attack on the consulate) and was delayed for 45 minutes at the airport
because they could not at first get transportation, allegedly due to
confusion among Libyan militias who were supposed to escort them to the
annex, according to Benghazi sources.

The American special operators, Woods, Doherty and at least two others were
part of the Global Response Staff, a CIA element, based at the CIA annex and
were protecting CIA operators who were part of a mission to track and
repurchase arms in Benghazi that had proliferated in the wake of Muammar
Qaddafi's fall. Part of their mission was to find the more than 20,000
missing MANPADS, or shoulder-held missiles capable of bringing down a
commercial aircraft. According to a source on the ground at the time of the
attack, the team inside the CIA annex had captured three Libyan attackers
and was forced to hand them over to the Libyans. U.S. officials do not know
what happened to those three attackers and whether they were released by the
Libyan forces.

Fox News has also learned that Stevens was in Benghazi that day to be
present at the opening of an English-language school being started by the
Libyan farmer who helped save an American pilot who had been shot down by
pro-Qaddafi forces during the initial war to overthrow the regime. That
farmer saved the life of the American pilot and the ambassador wanted to be
present to launch the Libyan rescuer's new school.

Yeah, one of the sources that had the Libyan story right while the rest of
the MSM was dutifully regurgitating the WH lie. So as an obvious democrat
you turn to smears to protect your corrupt masters.

You are liar and a pathetic shill.

If a republican were president this would be a bigger scandal than Watergate
and Iran contra combined, and should be. But thanks to a corrupt MSM..

The whole fuckin' thing had you jacking off with glee.

Oh, and then Hillary told the father of one of the victims that they would
make sure they got that film maker and then had him arrested with the full
spectacle of posting it all on you tube.

You aren't credible. Ped freak.

Your cut and paste with new subject line trick is well known and
actually makes you look Desperate and proves you are a liar.

You are totally racist more so than any KKK or New Black Klan member.

LOL Notice you cut out most of what was said. Normal liberal
honesty.

Original

""I've called a Black man nigger did so for years. He called me
Whitey, Honkey and peckerwood. Didn't like peckerwood because the
other Blacks laughed. This was before Internet so took me a while to
learn what it meant. Never got him back for that. Going to have to
work on that for our next meeting.

We were/are all like brothers. A bond beyond your racist
understanding."'

We did this for years and neither was offended. We both knew the
other wasn't racist. He was armed too.

Well thanks for showing everyone how honest a true Obama supporter is.

So let see you cut out most the original and the changed the subject
line so they couldn't see it. Good Work Gary.

Yup, crayon 'forgets' that you can't "create" an energy
field out of nothing. That violates the conservation of
energy, as well as Maxwell's Laws..

This is quite similar to his political opinions, complete
nonsense, "created" like those job his imagined wealth is
responsible for, never mind his "magnetic capacitors"..

Which are you? A liar, or just too stupid to read a simple transcript?

I just did. See above, you illiterate liar. I added some emphasis to
assist you. He referrred to it as an act of terror. Next day, not two
weeks later. Forgive him for not using "terrrrrr" as a scare tactic,
as the previous administration did.

By the way, Milt, did you simply sluff off my challenge for you to
