Check out the King Of Swing Brian
Setzer live from Tower Records in
Los Angeles. Jump, Jive and Wail
to the crazy sounds of the former
Stray Cat. It's Rockabilly romp with
the Brian Setzer Orchestra!

Agreed. He is far from the King of Swing.
Stick it up your ass.
Setzer has never made any swing in his life.
As you say, he's a rockabilly freak.
Cheers,
William.
My recommendations to you:
Joe Jackson's "Jumpin' Jive"
Anything by "The Jivewires"
Royal Crown Revue

Brian Setzer just added horns to his rock-a-silly band. RCR plays what they
have dubbed gangster-bop. This is not swing either. It is again,
essentially rock-a-silly with horns. The only thing close to swing that he
has played is Nosey Joe, and that is Jump Blues- sung originally by King
Record's Bullmoose Jackson.
Joe Jackon on the other hand plays Jump Blues ("We the Cats Shall Hep Ya" -
orig. Cab Calloway) and Swing, but a little too fast. Never-the-less he is
enjoyable.
You have to admit, most of the neo-swing that is popular (Big Bad Voodoo
Daddy, Royal Crown Revue, Cherry Poppin Daddies, etc.) may be good to you,
but it is not traditional swing. Just listen to the Rockabilly style Bass.
