HAL was an AI with free will . Now can we even build such a thing ? Human free will comes from an immensely complicated brain trained for years and years . I suppose were we able to create AI's with free will we'd install them on every project globally . You might hear them say "Ralph, I'm getting tired of building this dam. I think I'll kill all the construction workers and then go to Hawaii on vacation."

I'm convinced that all human interaction is just a game , just like chess , that we play these games until we croak , and that our civilization has become so immensely complex you can hardly live day to day life , then at the end you experience BEN, which is blessed eternal nothingness.

Did you know that you could be busy working at your desk preparing a presentation for your next meeting and then instantly you could be in amongst your fellow angels playing a harp? How could that happen ?Well, an ICBM travels faster than the speed of sound , so you'd never hear it coming and then if it exploded say a mile from you your brain would be vaporized before any signals could reach it, pain or audio , video ,whatever , so your soul would be instantly transported to heaven and there you'd be in amongst your fellow angels playing a harp. Sounds groovy, doesn't it?
Works the same for being put under general anesthesia.

One thing that's truly hard to believe is if the global brain theory is correct our global communication , person to person , person to machine , machine to machine is what is now governing the planet . Everyday actions such as you watching television , you reading the newspaper , or you having a conversation with your neighbor are communication transactions which form the global brain. If this is correct political leaders are merely window dressing and someone getting 10 years for election fraud is one of the most pathetic injustices on the face of the earth because basically the vote doesn't mean anything anymore . Which is why I haven't voted since 1976.

On second thought perhaps the towers are not completely the neurons and synapses of the global brain , The neurons are really in the brains of the human participants and within their communicating machines so all that activity is concentrated and distributed via those towers and comsats so forth and so on but at least when you're sitting out there looking at those radio towers blinking the red lights they are part of the system anyway.

So breathe in deep
You're not asleep
Open your mind
You're here today
No future fears
This day will last
A thousand years
If you want it to
Do you understand
That all over this land
Theres a feeling
In minds far and near
Things are becoming clear
With a meaning
Now that you're knowing
Pleasure starts flowing
Its true life flies
Faster than eyes
Could ever see
You're here today
No future fears
This day will last
A thousand years
If you want it to

Andrew Weil went to his wife and said "Honey, I have proof of Fermat's last conjecture " and she threw her arms around him and screamed and they ran into the bedroom and had wild passionate sex . Then Andrew had to go to her later and say "I'm sorry , there's a flaw in the proof " but he worked at it and he finally got the flaw out and he went to his wife and said, "Honey, I have the proof for Fermat's last conjecture and she said "Sweetie, dinner's on the table", but then Andrew discovered yet another flaw and he worked out that problem, went to his wife and said "honey I have finally gotten a complete and consistent proof for Fermat's last conjecture " And his wife said "Andrew , there's trash to be taken out"

Well that was kind of true in a way I think from what I heard there was great joy when Andrew told his wife that he had discovered the proof but there was less joy when he told her that there was a flaw in it and he had to patch it up. I have no idea where I heard that , probably a hallucination.
