Unhelpful

That doea apply, and two of my best teachers, Dan Barfield and Ahmos Zu-Bolton, encouraged the confessional poetry style by working in the form themselves and discouraging rhyming, which Barfield called a crutch.

Really?

Is Barfield also incapable of writing a complete sentence?

Zu-Bolton couldn't have been an influence -- you've already conceded that he was "well spoken."

No, Will... I have not.

I have asked you this same question in the past, and IIRC you have confirmed that Zu-Bolton was, in fact, well spoken.

Note how I'd specifically said that you'd "conceded" that he was well spoken in my original question to you, above:

Zu-Bolton couldn't have been an influence -- you've already conceded that he was "well spoken."

If you still believe him to have been well spoken, my question to you was not a misrepresentation.

If you no longer believe him to have been, you cannot assign any attempted falsehood to me, as you'd neglected to inform me of you change of mind.

Either way, you are in the wrong and owe me a serious apology.

You've admitted that you thought him well spoken today; and you've admitted that you thought him well spoken in the past.

When I say that you've already conceded that Zu-Bolton was "well spoken," I am making an indirect quote.

No, Will.

Had I done so, I would have said you found Zu-Bolton "well spoken for a black man."

I did not.

I said that you had already conceded that he was "well spoken."

The operative word is already "conceded."

Merriam-Webster defines "concede" as "to acknowledge grudgingly or hesitantly."

This is exactly what you did today, when I had to ask you half a dozen times before you gave me an answer.

This is exactly what happened the last time I'd asked you that question.

The impostor hadn't conceded anything. He made a statement -- plain and simple.

You had subsequently conceded that you did, in fact, find Zu-Bolton to have been well spoken.

As per usual, we're arguing over your inability to grasp the actual meanings of the words that either you, or others, are using.

Do us all a favor and take several free online course in basic English. Perhaps you can get Barfield to walk you through them.

You conceded that he was "well spoken" today -- and you've conceded that he was "well spoken" in the past.

If you know what conceded meant, you would know that my question could not have possibly referred to the original troll post (as the troll conceded nothing).

It's an oblique quote, Will. You may not have technically written it, but the two dozen waffle quotes I have from you in my sig.files speak otherwise.

1) There is no forgery.
2) I was not referring to the impersonation.

That's nice. However, it has nothing to do with this discussion.

Good.

What did the original troll post concede?

IIRC, the troll post was the initial post in the thread. How can the first post in a thread be a concession?

Unlike you, I choose my words very carefully. When I say that you have conceded something in the past, I mean precisely that.,

You made at least 2 dozen posts about the Waffle Houses in and around Columbus.

You still haven't written that one-paragraph critical analysis of a Bukowski poem of your choice (which you've been promising to do for the past 3 years).

If you're here for the poetry, write the damn analysis.,

If you're here for the waffles, keep on posting your daily "Hello Jordys," "Identity Theft Alerts," "Jim's picking on me!," etc., posts.

That was months ago, yet here you are, still trolling me about it every day or so.

Why not give it a rest?

Your Waffle House quotes form a permanent portion of my sig.files.

I'm not trolling you about them, Will. I'm merely attaching a humorous sig.file to my post.

Perhaps if you spent less time at the local Waffle Houses, you'd be able to lighten up.

Not wanting to sound like Donald Trump and changing your perspective about women are two very different things.

This isn't a personal matter, Will -- it's a matter of opinion.

You recently posted a poem wherein the speaker (Will Dockery) "put [his] finger to her hole." This seems every bit as Trumpish (if not moreso) than the currently discussed quote.

Has your opinion really changed? And if so, how has it changed?

The poem you quoted above was written when I was in high school, so, yes, my opinion has changed over nearly fifty years.

If your opinion has changed, one should think that your poem would cause you to cringe. Why haven't you changed it to reflect your new, mature attitude (whatever that might be)?

Why are you trolling me, Will?

If you're really here for the poetry (and not the waffles), please explain how your comment relates to poetry.

The truth is that you've made some extremely sexist comments in the past, and while you recognize that they may not be politically correct today, you nevertheless find nothing inherently wrong with them.

However, were you to admit this, you would offend the majority of your readers, so...

...you attempt to deflect the readers' attention from the *argument* at hand by launching into a flame war.

Okay, but that still doesn't change the fat that you've been posting forgeries and falsely attributing them to me.

Now that you've been informed of your mistake, you should stop spreading this false information, Pendragon.

You've been whining about how the "vicious, malicious trolls" keep picking on you.

I keep setting the record straight by pointing out how they'd offered you peace, but you'd refused.

I didn't refuse peace, but stopping posting was never agreed on... in fact I have always stated that I reserve the right to post as much as circumstances require.

You know that, and you know that imposed posting limits are unacceptable for me.

Cutting down your posts was the only thing the "trolls" wanted in return.

They gave you what you asked for. You refused to return the favor.

If not keeping yourself to a limit that the rest of the group also holds to means more to you than having a lasting peace, you should be happy with the outcome.

Which I did, and can still continue to do, if allowed.

What I wrote was that if the impersonations and forgery stopped, if the name calling and personal attacks on friends and family stopped, there would be less posts since none of that will need to be corrected.

I never claimed I'd stop posting at all, or that my posts would match your imposed limit.

I have always reserved the right to make as many posts as I see fiy yo make, as many as circumstances require, but at this time I would actually prefer being allowed to post less, since I have other projects which I would prefer to spend most of my time on.

I will continue to correct lies and misrepresentations, and of course, label any forgery and identity theft posts made by the malicious impostor trolls.

You cut down for 2 days. The trolls stopped their attacks for 2 weeks. 2 days for 2 weeks is not a fair exchange.

> and can still continue to do, if allowed.

No one is forcing you to post here, Will.

> What I wrote was that if the impersonations and forgery stopped, if the name calling and personal attacks on friends and family stopped, there would be less posts since none of that will need to be corrected.

This isn't being disputed, Will.

However, when the "impersonations and forgery... name calling and personal attacks on friends and family" stopped for two weeks, neither you nor your sock were able to keep the numbers of your posts down.

> I never claimed I'd stop posting at all, or that my posts would match your imposed limit.

You claimed that you rarely make over 25 posts a day, and that the only reason you sometimes do is because the "malicious trolls" force you to "set the record straight."

I put your claim to the test. You failed.

> I have always reserved the right to make as many posts as I see fiy yo make, as many as circumstances require.

Consequently, the rest of us reserve the right to recognize the fact that you're a self-absorbed, illiterate, untalented, whiny, pissbum who's desperate for attention -- and to treat you accordingly.

Yes I did and still post less most days unless it is a busy one.

No, you are lying again.

I made less posts and so did Zod.

That can add dozens of extra posts, of course.

Spin it as you please, He fact remains I posted less during that time.

That simply isn't true, Will.

You made 102 posts the day before yesterday, appear to have hit a similar number yesterday, and seem well on your way to hitting the 100+ mark again today.

You forgot to mention that my pants were on fire.

> I made less posts and so did Zod.

Learn to read, Will. The operative in my statement is "keep."

You made less posts for 2 days, and your sock followed suit.

However, the truce lasted for 2 weeks, during which you (and your sock) posted excessively for 12 days. IOW, you are unable to *keep* your fingers away from the keyboard for more than two days at a time.

No, Will.

That claim was put to the test. The "malicious trolls" stopped their attacks for 14 days. Your posts remained excessively high for 12 of those 14 days. You are obviously being motivated by something other than the troll posts.

> > I put your claim to the test

You posts were counted, and posted, every day. The records show that you did no such thing.

Correct.

Nothing has changed.

You had been given the opportunity to establish a permanent peace here -- and failed miserably.

Funny how no one was surprised.

Of course it isn't just the forgery, identity theft, personal attack, name calling and impostor troll posts that cause my post count to add up, Pendragon.

There are also marathon discussion threads like this one, and those with Corey yesterday,

There are my poetry threads.

That is why I reserve the right to post as often and as much as I see fit, and no extortion from cyberbully trolls will force me to accept the imposed posting limit, which,as you know, I find unacceptable.

:)

Take the troll posts out of the equation, and what have you got?

"Marathon discussion threads" and "poetry threads."

(Of course one could argue that this really isn't a discussion, and that your illiterate spewings fail to qualify as "poetry," but that's another topic.)

The marathon discussion threads" and "poetry threads have *kept* your numbers well over the 25 mark.

The bottom line is that trolls or no trolls, Will Donkey is going to over post, eat waffles, and whine.
