Final (?) version

Dear all,

Thanks to everyone who contributed text and suggestions to our whitepaper! I think the final result is just fantastic. Concise, science-driven, and practical. The latest version is attached. I didn't feel that I was able to achieve consistency in who chose to add themselves to the author list, so I've opted for a group byline, with myself annotated as the corresponding author.

I intend to circulate this to the ASAC members this afternoon. Please get in touch with me if you have any final comments.

We could also post this document on Arxiv. I tend to favor doing so because I'm sure there are folks with aligned interests who are not yet aware of this effort, but it is definitely something to discuss. Thoughts?
