Dear Colleagues,

Rafael Almeida, Carolina Arantes, Alexander Flecker, and I are hosting a session on water infrastructure, its benefits, impacts, and sustainable futures at the Fall Meeting in New Orleans.

H156 Water and Society: Interdisciplinary approaches toward sustainable infrastructure across the water-energy-food nexus

🔍 We aim to dive into:
• Impacts of infrastructure - dams, levees, reservoirs from the perspective of ecology, ecohydrology, geomorphology, and socio-economics
• Integrating such values into water resources management and planning
• Sustainable infrastructure for water energy food systems
📅 submit by July 30,2025 here: https://agu.confex.com/agu/agu25/prelim.cgi/Home/0

I know that a lot of members are working on much related topics, and we would appreciate if you would consider submitting to our session - particularly (but not only) if your work included collaborators from other disciplines, ecologists, sociologists, geomorphologists, etc. and you would like to share which perspectives you gained from such interdisciplinary work.

Thanks for considering and looking forward to seeing many of you at AGU 2025.

On behalf of all Conveners,

Rafael Schmitt
