Hello! I downloaded the google ad script account summary (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/scripts/docs/solutions/account-summary) and I wanted to customize it by separating my RSA ads from the rest of my ads. Currently, the account summary averages out the data from all my ads. How should I go about this? I was looking at the query and the reporting_options in CONFIG.js but I'm not sure what I should do or how to start. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Ava,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads Scripts Support Team. Please excuse us for only getting back now as your message failed to be routed to our support queue.

Unfortunately, as mentioned here, the Account Summary Report is an at-a-glance report showing the performance of an entire Google Ads account. With that being said, it would not be recommended to modify our solutions script for your use-case which is to filter the result based on ad_group_ad.ad.type.

What I can recommend is to make use of our Customizable Report solution script. The Customizable Report solution is a framework that automatically generates a spreadsheet from a report and emails it to a list of recipients. The default report fetches some Performance Max campaigns, but you can customize it for any valid GAQL query.

Let me know if you have any questions, or if you encounter any error kindly provide privately via the “Reply to Author” or via our email (googleadsscr...@google.com), the following information:

  • Google Ads account ID / CID

  • Script name

  • Shareable link of the involved spreadsheet, you may follow this guide on how you can get the said shareable link. You may also opt to provide a local copy of the spreadsheet to reduce back and forth.
