When I hit Enter on the new experience, the editing window auto-scrolls to put the cursor one line BELOW the bottom of the pane.  This makes it impossible to make the kind of progress I'm used to--I've started editing in an external text editor and pasting in between Previews.

This also gives me a usable cntl-f search, but is a ridiculous inconvenience that didn't used to be necessary.  There's no reason to have my edit window jumping around, hiding my cursor on every newline.

The answer will be that this is done for privacy reasons :) :)

Hello everyone,

I’m James from the Google Ads scripts support team. I believe that our team is already looking into this unusual behavior in our script editor. Rest assured that we will keep this thread posted for any updates.

Agree. This is a super annoying.

There're a few workarounds:
1) After hitting enter, just start typing - The viewport will switch back to the correct line so you can see what you're typing, except for the first character.
2) Use Shift + Enter to avoid change in viewport altogether. However, this option moves the cursor all the way to the left on the new line - which is also annoying.

Reposting the last inquiry (https://groups.google.com/g/adwords-scripts/c/3AI5LjLFw_0) from the forum as it wasn't routed to our support queue.

Hi All,

@Sigurd - Thank you for providing your insights on this.

I would agree with Sigurd's provided workarounds, as I also follow these in order to save time instead of scrolling all the way down (especially if it is a script with many lines of code) as well as adjust the indentation when the cursor gets pushed all the way to the left. Kindly follow this for the meantime while this is being investigated. We do appreciate your patience regarding this.

That said, while this issue has no updates we can share at the moment, I will be sure to communicate your insights to our team. We'll let you know the soonest we get feedback from them.
