Hello,

I am receiving negative values for 'All Conversions Value' from the Google Ads API.  For context, we are using the Search Term View report.  As well, in the same row where we have a negative value for 'All Conversions Value', the value for both 'Conversions' and 'All Conversions' is 0.  I am wondering how that is possible.  Can you please explain?

Best Regards,

Hi Chris,

Thank you for raising your concern.

The returned value of the metrics.all_conversions_value should only be equal or greater than to 0. With this, could you provide the customer ID and the complete request and response logs with request ID generated on your end for this report to investigate?

As for the 'Conversions' and 'All Conversions' with zero value, could you check if this also the value in the UI? If the values of the UI and API report are the same, then let me know so I can include the product team on this thread so that they can provide insights on how this metrics are generated. If the values of the UI and API report are different, then please provide the screenshot of the whole UI, the customer ID and the complete request and response logs with request ID for this report to investigate.

You can provide the requested details via Reply privately to author option.

I've had negative conversions a few times. See https://groups.google.com/g/adwords-api/c/cjvqmrLz0wc

The 2019 posts were (probably) about changes in conversion types that contribute to general conversions - you could end up with negative conversions in reports WITHOUT segmentation to conversion type. That was a problem on Google's end, but they could only fix this for conversions from September 2019 on - in other words, in the period before September 2019 you may still find such exceptions.

That same post describes a problem I identified in August 2020.  To my knowledge, this is still not solved.

Do realize that I'm talking about Conversions and you are talking about AllConversions. The difference between Conversions and AllConversions -to my knowledge- is the applied attribution model: For Conversions you can select between a few attribution models, and AllConversions uses an unspecified attribution model.

I hope this helps your understanding.
