After uploading audience members by the API, the numbers for Search, Display, Gmail and Youtube are alot smaller than the number that was uploaded (after a few days).

Why is this?

Is there a way to accurately check the full list size that exists at Google? Not specifically for numbers for Search, Display, Gmail and Youtube, but the underlying list size for the audience list?

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API Forum. I hope you are doing well today.

After uploading audience members by the API, the numbers for Search, Display, Gmail and Youtube are a lot smaller than the number that was uploaded (after a few days). Why is this?

>> For this concern, if you're encountering Google Ads API issues or errors, for our team to further compare, investigate, and validate why you are encountering issues, can you provide more information?

  • Provide the complete (request and response with request-id) logs with request ID generated as shown in the respective links.

  • Complete or uncropped screenshots from the Google Ads UI (showing data with date filter)

We do this to check if there’s an error thrown on your side and provide accurate recommendations.

If you haven't enabled logging yet, it can be enabled by navigating to the Client libraries > Your client library (ex. Java) > Logging documentation, which you can access from this link. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging via the curl command by using the -i flag. This will cause the tool to include the HTTP response headers in the output.

>> Please note that as mentioned in Google Ads API: Customer Match (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/remarketing/audience-types/customer-match/get-started) documentation and guidelines.

“Google Ads only uses a Customer Match user list for targeting if it has met a minimum threshold of active users at the time the ad is served; active users is the number of users on your list who are active on Gmail, Search, YouTube, or Display. Upload at least 5,000 members to increase the chance of having enough matched, active users for targeting.”

However, if this is not the one that you are looking for, could you please elaborate more about the “list size for the audience list”? The needed information mentioned above will help us to investigate and provide accurate recommendations related to this matter.
