Dear colleague,
When I introduce myself as the president of Physicians for a National Health Program, I’m proud to say that our organization has a membership of 25,000 doctors, students, health professionals, and activists who are fighting for single-payer Medicare for All.
That number—25,000—makes a big impression on allies, policymakers, reporters, and fellow physicians. It demonstrates that a large number of U.S. doctors are fed up with corporate medicine and are ready to embrace a truly public national health program.
But what if instead of 25,000 members, I could say 35,000? Or 50,000? Or 100,000? These numbers would make an even bigger impression, and would put an even bigger dent in the fortress that corporate health insurers have built to protect their profits. These numbers would reflect an even more powerful and even more tight-knit community, and would get us so much closer to winning Medicare for All.

Earlier this year, I joined a working group of physician and student leaders—and our national office staff—to redesign PNHP’s membership brochure. Our final print version, which just arrived at our offices in Chicago, includes striking visuals and compelling reasons for would-be members to join our movement.
Alongside these print brochures, we have developed a series of digital graphics that invite would-be members to find a home with PNHP. These images are perfect for texting, emailing, or posting to social media—while encouraging your colleagues to sign up at pnhp.org/join.
These materials are an important resource to help members grow our organization, our movement, and our power to affect change. And now is the perfect time, because millions of people—inside and outside of the medical profession—are eager to join our fight for health justice.

Once you have these materials in hand, I hope you’ll use them to spur conversations with your colleagues about the only real solution to our health care crisis—improved Medicare for All—and the only organization of doctors in the U.S. that is working tirelessly to win: Physicians for a National Health Program.
