So I broke down and bought an EB2.  The problem i have is that they are still working on the Spooler and mine won't be here till Mid February, so when I go to make filament I can't pull it to keep it the same Diameter 1.75.  It stretches and ends up being 1.1 to 1.3  and my Makerbot 5th Gen wont feed it.. Any Ideas?

You should be able to let it drop onto the floor and coil around naturally.  The height above the floor might have to be adjusted to get it coiling consistently.  It might also need some sort of teflon or metal guide to drape over on the way to the floor to keep the filament weight from pulling on the output differently.  There have been many references to this method relative to the other extruders produced over the last year that do not have winders.  You can see examples by looking up other DIY extruders.  I would get something to put on the floor that is clean, like butcher paper or such.  After you have a pile, then you can hand wind it onto a spool.

I have the opposite problem.  I got a KS EB1 and decided to make my own winder, as the one that came with it was not a good design.  After I got it all together and started to extrude material, the EB1 motor was not strong enough to extrude more than a few inches at a time before stalling (at any temp and the best quality high flow ABS).  So far, not a lot of help from the company in suggesting how it might be corrected. It was the worst KS experience I have had, and for a product that was "ready for production with a proven design".  I am going to try changing gear ratios on the extruder to slow it down and give it 1.6x more torque.  It was extruding faster than I needed anyway.

I just got a EB2 after waiting 2.5 months and still no spooler, Whoever put it together was sloppy as hell. Panels don't fit, Touchscreen doesn't work worth a crap, Temperature floats all over the place, Can't change the nozzle because everything inside turns. Waiting for a RMA now.

Tim here, from Filastruder. Have you tried reducing the temperature? I have no experience with the EB2 but that may help get the diameter up and more consistent...

Hi all sorry it took me a few days to get back to everyone, I did try that but wonderful gravity kicked and was stretching the Filament to 1.1mm which will not work in my printer that requires 1.75. I lowered the temp to 143C and was able to get it work but its still not consistent i was getting anywhere between 1.5mm to 2.0mm.  So I called Extrusion Bot and they have sent me an RMA label to send it back to have the temperature sensor fixed. Ill keep everyone updated as soon as I get it back.

sorry yes Joe I got it back last week and it works Perfectly..The temperature sensor was Cracked, I'm guessing it happened from shipping. The box was damaged when I got it the 1st time. I'm guessing FED EX dropped it.  I have made 2 spools but I really think it needs a spooler with it because if not its a real pain in the butt to try and spool it.  I'm still waiting for my spooler. :( but in the mean time I am in the process of building one from this..http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:30705
