Accessing Patient's Medicare Number

Hello,

Is there a way to access a patient's Medicare Number? I assumed the patient id would be the Medicare Number, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Actually, it's available in V2 of the API.

MBI can be found in the Patient resource: Patient.identifier[x].value

as well as in the Coverage resource: Coverage.subscriberId

This is Brady with the Blue Button API Team.  Paul is correct that MBI is only available in V2 in the Patient and Coverage resources.  Also, it's worthy to note, that if your application doesn't get demographic information and you need the MBI, you can get it from the Coverage resource in V2.
