be used in all Vail resorts (Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin,
Vail, Beaver Creek, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood).
With that pass, we can take 2 or 3 ski trips (1 Lake Tahoe and 1/2
Colorado) next season with minimal cost. I am thinking to cover all
Vail's resort in next season (2012-13), and then we can go somewhere
else in 2013-14 season.
If you are going to buy a lift ticket at Vail, it is very expensive
and would cost you almost $120 a day. Say, if we have 2 ski trips
(totally 10 ski days), then the average cost each ski day will be only
$50 with pass. If we have 3 ski trips, the the average cost each ski
day will be less than $34.

With Epic Local Pass ($509), we only need to pay 1 lift ticket for
Squaw Valley. The average cost for all other resorts will be less
than $35, and it is much much cheaper than buying there ($120 per day
for Vail and will be more expensive next season)!

Q. If I pay $49 down before 04/15, how and when should I pay the
remaining balance?
A. You will receive an email in September about the remaining
balance. You will pay the remaining balance then. If you decide not
to pay move forward, the $49 is not refundable.
Q. How do I get the pass that I purchase?
A. We will mail it to you after we receive the full amount of payment.
Q. What is the buddy pass?
A. The buddy pass is better than the ski-with-a-friend pass. That
entitle your friend to pay cheaper price.

Therefore, I am going to reserve an Epic Local Pass (with $49 down to
lock the price and all the spring benefit). :)

I would still recommend you to take advantage of their promotion to
get an Epic Local Pass now. Why? Even if you take only one ski trip,
the Epic Local Pass still pays off itself. Do the calculation:
5 ski days in Lake Tahoe area will cost you more than $500 for lift
tickets only. Northstar lift ticket is $99 per day this season, and I
expect it will go up much more next season (because Vail group
dominates the lift ticket price.)
Now I am going to lock the pass price $509 with only $49 down. :)

If we really ski two weeks in Lake Tahoe area (and two other Colorado ski
trips), the average cost per ski day will be $25 ($509/20). I am going to
make the purchase of the Epic Local Pass (with $49 down) NOW!
One thing worth mentioning is that the price of the pass increases when the
snow season is approaching.

This guys knew how to play. His total cost is only $2333 for a month long
skiing at Lake Tahoe including airfare round from Beijing, lift tickets,
lodging, ground transportation, food, everything. That's really cheap to
live in Lake Tahoe and skiing.
If we bought the EPIC pass we might just have a two weeks skiing trip at
Lake Tahoe. It would make the EPIC worth more and more economics.

2. 如果住旧金山的Inn, 价格从伍陆拾到壹佰多不等. 我们住我妹家，
Lake Tahoe不太远. 全程200英里, 需3 - 4个小时. 雪大时需7 - 8
个小时甚至10多个小时. 两驱车需装防滑链.
3. 5号到Heavenly 后先办季卡, 雪季前3个月订是$330, 随后逐渐涨价,
$350, $370 ....... $790. 当时购票是每天$90. 租板每天$38，如果滑雪
4天以上, 订季卡合算.
4. 滑雪结束后到旅馆定房间. 订了个带厨房的2人套间. 成本是每天
$40, 住三周(22天).
5. 每天自己做饭, 吃得还不错, 每人每天饭费$10。中式自助餐7-8元，
西式自助餐20（五星酒店）。
6. 雪场6人吊厢直达小镇中心, 免费班车几分钟一趟到雪场. 所以只须
在第一天和最后一天租车, 可异地还车. 有免费班车通丝瓜，可可木，
北星，西亚罗等雪场，要提前预订。
7. 27号中午离开雪场, 1号乘机回国. 此次费用大约14000多,
含机票, 滑雪, 宾馆, 交通, 吃饭. 前后一个月，雪场23天。

Local Pass. If you want to get their early bird deal and benefits
(including: 6 Buddy Tickets, unlimited spring 2013 skiing at Vail, $49
down, lowest guaranteed price, ... etc.), you need to make the
reservation by 04/15/2012.
Also, the idea of getting an Epic Loca Pass is also part of our long-
range ski trip planning. By executing that plan, we will be able to
visit all the most famous ski resorts in the world in 10 years.
