I use Microsoft Access for this and have created fields for all the data from the articles including the abstracts. Then I file the printed articles by the primary author's last name. The earlier you start it the better so you can add articles as you pull them up online.

Hello All:
Does anyone know of a good alternative to the old two deck 4x6 file
card method for organizing and summarizing articles pulled for a
dissertation literature review? With PC's doing virtually everything
now-a-days, there has to be a more time efficient alternative.

Thanks for the creative suggestion. I have used Access before some time ago.
There is a bit of a learning curve, but it is a powerful program.
