What adventures for other systems have you found that convert well to WFRP? Are there any games out there that you have found whose games have a good WFRP flavor to them?

I am converting some scenarios for Lamentstions of the Flame Princess. Many of them have a dark horror feel; however, they are mostly dungeon type adventures, are sometimes stupid deadly and have way too much treasure for a WFRP game. Overall though, I am looking forward to running the three that I am converting here on OWL.

I would aporeciate other places to look. I would like to think that I would just make my own scenarios from scratch; however, my creative process normally works in the direction of take other people's work and substantially mutate to my own liking.

generally i pinch anything from films , books or other systems , its the story idea that just needs to be gritty enough , for instance my adventure that i ran called the beast of garrsen was based on the film "a werewolf in london".I actually find it easier to write my own than use pregens because by the time you have finally converted a pregen you have almost rewritten it anyway

i am also looking at the FATE system for insperation

and on a lighter note always have extra monsters around if the players are doing too well lol ( there were two river trolls in the Garssen bridges scenario but if i brought out the 2nd it would have been a TPK )

bugger shouldnt have told them that lol

Oh I have no problem with pinching from any source. I've been GMing for years and any GM worth their salt is a good thief. ;-)

I do prefer to start with something pregenerated as it provides me focus. Going from scratch I tend to sweat the details too much and get caught in a perpetual loop of revise, revise, revise...oh look, I got tired of it, set it aside and never finished. I have no problem with the concept that I took Adventure A by Bob, rewrote it to the point that it is no longer recognizable but is now mine.

The main thing I like to pinch are maps. I am a lazy map maker. Now that I am working with Maptools, I am actually rekindling my love of making maps. In high school, I would draw map after map, some became attached to adventures, most did not. I know I can simply scan in map x from another source and go, but I'm having fun tinkering with Maptools and making maps. I'm not necessarily good at it, but I am having a good go at it.

It has flipped my adventure making process on its head. When playing in a face to face group, I start with a story idea, either mine or pinched, do a quick search for any necessary maps, add salt and voila! Done. Now, while I have the germ of an idea to start, I find myself map fiddling for hours, which while it generates new ideas, I loose focus and don't finish.

Consequently, in a face to face group, as a GM I do well with starting the session with no more than a basic idea and sand boxing it, letting the players tell most of the story for me; however, I don't think that would work well for me in a VTT environment. Especially because I am trying to design scenarios that can be completed in one three to four hour session. With my face to face group, it is no big deal if my players take things in a direction I don't expect, because I can find a good stopping point then simply pick things up the following week. If I had a dedicated VTT group I could do the same, but I enjoy the spirit of OWL's "no obligation" play style and wish to honor it.
