Hello,

I've got WeeWX working great with my WMR968 except for one problem -- I keep seeing the following error in the logs:

Dec 30 06:31:57 server weewx[8613]: engine: 2016-12-30 06:31:57 MST (1483104717) LOOP value 'barometer' 25.2776693 outside limits (26.0, 32.5)

The admin at AWEKAS emailed me this morning to say my pressure sensor had been temporarily disabled because it is sending invalid pressure values.

However, my station console (and my WeeWX Web page itself) seem to be reporting correct values, and Weather Underground is as well (or at least, hasn't complained).

How do I troubleshoot this issue? I searched for other threads to do with the barometer being outside the limits and checked my weewx.conf file; I don't seem to have a syntax error (here's what I have currently):

    [[MinMax]]
        barometer = 26, 32.5, inHg

IF 25.2776693 is indeed a correct barometer reading then you need to change your min max limits in weewx.conf and lower the minimum limit.  If it is outside limits weewx is probably replacing it by Null, which is what is being sent to awekas.  I see your station also provides pressure, which is probably what is being sent to wunderground - what are the limits set for pressure in weewx.conf??.  Another option may be to set prefer software option for barometer and have weewx calculate the barometer from the pressure (if pressure is correct and barometer is wrong).

One further thing - have you actually set the sea level pressure so that the instrument is able to deliver both pressure and barometer readings?

I need to amend what I said:

WeeWX (on my Web page) is reporting what is a correct pressure value, according to comparison with another nearby weather station.

However, my WMR968 physical console is reporting an incorrect value (25.68 inHg) -- which is way too low for my altitude (just below 5000 ft).

it appears WeeWX is doing some sort of correction for the Web page, at least.

Limits set for pressure in weewx.conf are the default:

pressure = 24, 34.5, inHg

I have not. I think I missed that step when I was installing things. I'll have a look at the manual -- thank you for the suggestion.

Remember to make sure you are comparing apples with apples and are correctly understanding the weewx terminology for barometer, pressure and altimeter - see the wiki

It is possible other stations may be showing 'wrong' values!!  Usually airports etc report sea level pressures to ensure consistency.  Sea level pressures will always be higher than straight pressures taken at altitude ....

I have now input local sea level pressure to my WMR968 and the barometer limit errors have ceased. Thank you for the help!
