Hello!

I have to display some data in a nicely formatted way. (ie several columns grouped together by wider caption cells "Day" and "Night")

To do that I'd like to merge cells VirtualStringTree in a few places. Sould look similar to a html-table where a few cells are merged using colspan=... .
(I added a pic to demonstrate what I need).
Is there an intended mechanism in VirtualStringTree to do that?

Thanks in advance,
Ralf

Ralf,
Look for toAutoSpanColumns.

But please, this is not a general support list, but a developer group. Thanks.

Hey Mike!

Sorry if I disturb once again.
As this issue is unfortunately not solved for me (no spanning in the header line) I posted the question in the soft gems forum
After I did that I saw that there's nearly no traffic anymore.
Then I realized that there's no link pointing to the forum from https://code.google.com/p/virtual-treeview/

Is this on purpose?

Posting in Stackoverflow feels awkward for me as there are no categories and this is Delphi- and VirtualTreeView-specific.
Sorry again and thanks for your help/explanation.

Ralf

There are frequent Virtual TreeView questions on SO. See the tag: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/virtualtreeview

Hey Ralf,

As this issue is unfortunately not solved for me (no spanning in the header line) I posted the question in the soft gems forum

True, spanning works only for regular cells IIRC. Shouldn't be a big issue to implement this also for the header. You can open a feature request, if you like.

After I did that I saw that there's nearly no traffic anymore.

Well, just forgotten. I have no time to do support for VT (that's why I ignore the forums since a while), nor any to develop it further. This is why I'm so happy to see others jump on the waggon (and why I insist on keeping this list clean from all support requests).
