Fix issues with 1.55

1.55 seems to have two issues:

1. Due to an embarrassing typo (by me), visual line mode is broken (fixed here).
2. Due to a Chromium bug, some key mappings are broken for users with non-standard keyboard layouts (see the issue and the workaround).

For sure there are other issues, but -- since they haven't surfaced since 1.55 was released -- they're probably not urgent.

We could push 1.56 fixing these issues now, before the summer period when new releases will not be possible. The release notes have been updated to reflect these two changes.

Technically, there's no downside.  Phil is just (I think) a bit bandwidth-limited right now.

Technically, there's no issue.  It's a "does Phil have the bandwidth" issue.

Sorry for the delay. Thanks for putting these fixes together Steve. I've pushed 1.56 to the chrome store.
