Hello everyone,
I have been trying to install VESTA (Visualization for Electronic and Structural Analysis) software on my ubuntu machine. This is what I did:
1. I downloaded the file: VESTA-x86_64.tar.bz2 (ver. 3.3.3, built on May 29 2016, 21.8MB) from this web page:
http://jp-minerals.org/vesta/en/download.html
2. Unzip with this command:
bzip2 -dk VESTA-i686.tar.bz2
3. Which created this foloder: VESTA-i686
But, I don't know what to do next. If I write VESTA on the command terminal, it shows 'command not found'.
Can anyone suggests how can I run VESTA from the command terminal?
Regards,
Baig
Then, I corrected the error by installing the library:
sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-0:i386
After that, I wrote ./VESTA and it worked perfectly.
Regards,
Baig
