New embed codes not generating - befuddled!

We use timeline fairly often where I work and we're trying to publish a new timeline and having trouble. 

We noticed the interface here has changed and the URL has as well (to this: http://timeline.knightlab.com/). 

We're not having luck getting a timeline code to generate for our spreadsheet as we've always been able to do. It just keeps the URL of the sample timeline in the "Step 4" part of the site. We keep refreshing, cutting and pasting the google spreadsheet URL, and still it's the same sample test timeline. Nothing changes and there's no button to generate a new code. The preview is not working, and when we embed the code on our end, it's staying the Verite test timeline and not ours. 

Anyone got a solve for this?

I use the timeline preview just about daily, often more than once. I haven't yet seen a problem.

Can you advise as to which browser you're using, and which operating system? Can you share a URL to a spreadsheet that you're trying to use as a source? (to an old one, if you're not prepared to reveal a new one.)

You have an extra column at the front of the spreadsheet.  I copied everything but that into a fresh template and I get a working preview.
