I am interested in using TimelineJS so I tried publishing your template but all I get is a spinning wheel and STILL WAITING ON GOOGLE DOCS.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

It's working now. I did not change a thing. Just refreshed page.

But wait. The spreadsheet template does not match the preview. Different dates, headlines, etc. Please explain.

I see what happened. When I refreshed the page, it gave me the code that was in the sample originally, which is not the code for the spreadsheet template. So, back to the beginning. The spreadsheet template is not working. Yes, I published it, and followed all the instructions three times. Please explain.

What about the template is not working?
I just walked through the sample template creation and did not notice an issue. Are you still getting the "waiting on google docs" message?
Is there something that is not showing up when you publish the template and do the preview?
The original sample is exactly the same as the sample template, so to be sure it was working I changed some of the dates, republished and previewed and was able to see the changes.

I am away from my computer until this weekend. I will try again then.

What I did was publish your template, copied the code, pasted it in the generator, and receive the error message. I then refreshed the page and it worked. But by refreshing that page I got a different code than the one I got when I publish the template. Also, the code that works  and produces the sample on the website is not the same information that is contained on the spreadsheet ( different dates and headings / titles)

Thanks for getting back and helping me with this. I'll try it again this weekend.

Okay. I tried it again. I ran through the three steps using your spreadsheet template. I get the following message from the embedded code, preview or preview link.

STILL WAITING ON GOOGLE DOCS, TRYING AGAIN 0

Ted:

We'll be much more able to help if you share the URL to the Google spreadsheet your using, and, if possible, a page on the web that demonstrates the error.

Thank you

I found my mistake. I was not copying the whole URL. Only some of it appears in the Get Link window. It's working! Thanks for your help. Bellow is my documentation in progress that you requested.

http://timeline.verite.co

Page down to Make a Time Line. Click on Google Spreadsheet Template.

Click on Use this template. Then click on Start Publishing.

Paste in Google Spreadsheet URL
