Hi Again all,
Thanks for the replies on my last post. I'm moving along slowly with twine and mostly enjoying it
I want to display my game variables and their values in the left hand sidebar on sugarcane.
I'm sure I read a post or document on how to do it but can't seem to find it again so can I please ask for some assistance.
Thanks

Put the text in a passage called "StoryMenu", like "Variable 1: <<print $var1>>" and all that. Now, it doesn't automatically update as you go along, but there may, depending on the Twine version, be a built-in macro called <<update>> which can do it manually.

Hi Leon,
Thanks for that unfortunately it didn't quite work.
I get the variable text name "Variable: in the side bar but the value is shown as "Bad expression cannot read property history of undefined"
I assume this is because it doesn't know what the variables are.
Now I define them all in Start and they do work because I can play through parts of the story using them,
so do you have any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
I've tried setting different values of the variables and various combinations of your command but can'' get it to work.
Appreciate your assistance
