How does EDG handle imported .ttl files with owl:Imports?

How do I import a tll file in EDG that contains owl:imports? If the imported ontologies are uploaded first, is EDG smart enough to transform the imports to includes or do I need to do that manually?

Thank you,
Mary

OK, I see that if I upload the importing ontology it automatically creates the includes from the imports, but what does that mean on the back end? Does it merge the imports in read-only form? What happen if I upload one of the imported ontologies to EDG? Will it be recognized as the same model that is included in the importing ontology?

Mary,

Under the Manage tab for an Ontology you will find an External Graph URI field. You can set it for each EDG ontology to be equal to the base URI of a file that you used to load there.

Then, the import statements from your uploaded RDF that refer to these “external URIs” will be re-routed to their EDG managed representations. At least this is how it should work in principle. This is a new feature, I have not tried it yet.
